When people ask us about horror authors, Stephen King is at the top of our recommendation list. He's an incredibly prolific author with titles that range from skin crawlingly horrifying to fascinating non fiction. He's our choice for October's HPL Reads, but he's so popular that you might have already read all of his titles. What's next? Try a book by one of his sons, of course!

Joe Hill has established himself as one of today's hottest horror writers and the movie Horns, starring Daniel Radcliff, is based on his book by the same title. King's other son, Owen King, co-wrote Sleeping Beauties with his father. He also wrote some short stories, a novella, and even co-wrote a graphic novel about an alien invasion on a college campus.

No time to read this month? Watch one of the spin off tv shows or movies based on King or Hill's books. Haven, Under the Dome, Castle Rock, Salem's Lot, and many others are available on streaming services and/or can be checked out from the library. You can even critique Stephen King's acting (as well as his screenplay writing) in 1982's Creepshow.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the titles you read and/or the movies/tv shows you watch!
