This is the discussion thread for Chapters 1-9 of The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn. Please keep the discussion to this section of the book. If you have not read this section yet, beware of spoilers!

Chloe (Always Booked) (alwaysbooked) So far I’m really curious about what is going on. Clearly our main character is at least a little unreliable- are all the neighbors actually there? What is reality vs the world she’s describing to us? Agoraphobia is something I haven’t read much about so I find it very intriguing to see how someone who suffers with that lives on a day to day basis. I get so stir crazy if I don’t leave the house every day- it’s interesting to see the other side of that. I hope it gets a little more into that experience and if there was a trigger to the phobia. I wonder if she lives alone because of the agoraphobia or the drinking or if something unrelated caused her husband and child to leave. I think I also heard (through the hype and multiple booktube descriptions of the plot) that she witnesses something with one of her neighbors so I’m wondering which set of neighbors it’ll be since we’ve met 2 families. I’m guessing the couple where the wife is cheating but who knows. Will the people ever know they’re being watched? Does she watch innocently or does she ever act on these peoples lives?
Overall this beginning part has sparked a lot of questions for me and I’m really excited to continue on!

I agree with Chloe - I’m very intrigued by this beginning! I’m interested to see how she became agoraphobic, and how that will play into what happens in the plot down the lien. I’m also intrigued to find out what Anna will witness from her home, and who the heck David is!
