I’m struggling to put this book down! I’m definitely invested in figuring out what’s going on. I don’t know if it mentioned it in the earlier section but I was surprised that Olivia is only 8. For some reason I pictured Anna being older and therefore her daughter being closer to an adult. I really want to know what happened 10 months ago that caused her to become agoraphobic and lose her family! I’m glad they’re still on good terms- is that surface level or are they truly on good terms?Again I am very naive when it comes to agoraphobia so I don’t know if it’s atypical or not, but I think it’s interesting that she spends so much time by the window looking outside when it’s the outside that terrifies her so much. I guess within the safety of her home she’s still living vicariously through the people she watches.
Why did the boys egg her house?
I find it so fascinating that she spends all day counseling people with agoraphobia, yet she’s not able to counsel herself into being able to go outside for basic tasks (trash, etc.). However, I am a health and fitness professional so I know a lot about what we should eat, how we should move, sleep, etc. and I can easily counsel and advise others, but so often I don’t do it myself so I find the juxtaposition between what you say in your helping profession and what you do in your personal life very relatable.
Finally I loved how Mrs Russell came over and hung out with Anna. As I was reading I was thinking we need to get a few more window coverings and I’d be super creeped out! But not her- she befriends Anna and I’m excited to see where that goes. And what’s with Mr Russell?! I definitely think the scandal is going to be with them now, not the Millers.
This book is flying by. Sorry for the long updates!
I also though Olivia would be in her teens or something like that. It was a surprise for me as well when we found out she was 8! It was interesting to have a scene where she was having a panic attack and how that manifests for her. I really don't trust Mrs. Russell at all and I'm now so intrigued what Mr. Russell's deal is with coming over and asking why his son and wife were coming over... >_> Definitely some sinister feelings from the Russells!
I agree - this book is hard to put down!
