Angy If I subscribe to Audiobooks for the monthly fee am I renting the book or buying it? Specifically if I get it this month, can I re-listen again say next year? Also, if I buy a Kindle book on Amazon and add the Audiobook is that part of my subscription or is this an additional fee? Just trying to see if i want to subscribe since some audio books are harder to find. Thanks!

Laura (terrelli) | 9 comments Not sure, but your local library should have lots of audiobooks and they might even have them available on their website to download or listen in your browser. Mine does. That way you can listen again whenever and you're not stuck with a book you don't like.

Laura Moseley | 17 comments When you subscribe to Audible, you are buying the book and you get to keep it forever. If you add an audible book to an amazon book purchase, again, you are buying the audio book and you get to keep it forever. If you subscribe to Audible and are adding audio to and amazon book purchase, you need to see what the audio add on price is as to weather it makes sense to pay for the add on or use one of your Audible credits. It is usually a better deal to pay for the add on because the rate is less than an Audible credit. I use $11.00 as my cut off. If the add on is under $11.00 I pay for it, if it is over, I use a credit.
Hope this helps.

Angy Thank you! This exactly explains what I was needing. My library requires you to come in and signup for a library card which is definitely not convenient which is why I wanted to look into Audiobook.

Jen (jncahill) You can rent from a decent selection on Scribd. First month free, then $9 after that. Overdrive is an app you can use for digital audiobooks with a library account. Books you get on Audible are yours IF you download them instead of listening on their cloud.
