I have it on my Kindle app on my ipad. I've started the first chapter. It's a read for my commute, so I'm happy that it's short. I love that first paragraph. It completely sucked me in.
My fellow San Franciscans are very slow returning this book to the library. (One copy has been due since September 19th!) I am pretty sure a friend I am going to see this weekend owes it, so I am going to ask to borrow her copy. I will chime back in as soon as I can get my hands on a copy and read it!
I love Murderbot, but Murderbot does not want my love, and that is partly why I love Murderbot.Murderbot gets me, for I, too, would prefer to avoid people and go watch/read my stories.
I've still only read the first one, but once I get through this stack of other shiny book objects on my table, the rest of the series is high on my to-read list.
I have read it and I love Murderbot so much. I need to get to the next three! I’m almost afraid to see where I am on the library holds. 😬
I'm going to read the fourth novella soon, I'm already finishing Martha Wells île-Rien trilogy, so I don't want to mix both readings together, but I love MURDERBOT and i'm ecstatic there's a novel on the way.Since I discovered MURDERBOT, I went on to read all of Martha Wells stuff, and so far, i've read all her stand alone fantasy novels, The Raksura books (they're absolutely fantastic), and then i went on to the Rien novels in in-world chronological order (there are two stand alone novels that happen in earlier time lines, but are still connected).
It's the first time I encounter a writer I like so much since Bujold, though there are plenty of writers I love, there are only a few that seem to whisper directly to my brain and my heart like those two.
I've also discovered her patreon which has a lot of snippet material from the Raksuras and if you've read those books, you'll understand the need to get more of it.
Anyway. So… yeah, I'll be reading the fourth novella soon xD
I am here to put a plug in for the audio versions of MURDERBOT. I started Artificial Condition yesterday on audio and was SCREAMING and skipping back to relisten to parts in under 10 minutes. The narrator is absolutely perfect.
I'm on hold. #2, but the earliest due dates are the 9th and the 13th so it may be a back end of the month read for me
I just finished this. Marvelous. I love the ending, which makes me want to grab the next one. Love Murderbot!
Just finished the audio version myself. It was a very fun listen, though not having the text did make me slightly unsure of exactly who was who for a while. Overall really enjoyed it and need to pick up the next parts when I get around to it.
This book is a lot of fun. And makes me wish I had a suit with a helmet.I had an MRI the other day (everything is good) and I kept thinking about how I was Murderbot in their room. If only I had endless tv to keep me distracted.
The rest of the series is now on my tbr list.
Haha I just started this today and it cracks me up how awkward and uncomfortable Murderbot is. I too wish for a helmet to hide my facial expressions and disinterest as I watch my serials. How is this security unit such a good representation of some mental health struggles? There have been times I would have liked to walk away and stare at a wall rather than talk about about some things.
The month is over, but I'm still reading this series; number 3 is on my nightstand :D great choices Suevians, that's 2 for 2 I've picked up a new author and series. This thread is always open for further discussion, so if anyone picks the book up or continues the series please come by and share your thoughts.Happy Reading

Today we start our October read of All Systems Red by Martha Wells. It is novella #1 of 4 in The Murderbot Diaries (although I do see that there is a full-length book listed for 2020 publication!). Hopefully everyone can get a chance to fit it in.
All Systems Red (goodreads blurb)
Who is reading this, who has read this, how much do you love Murderbot?
As always, happy reading
