Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Hi Mehsi! did you find any books you would like to read on the list?

message 3: by Mehsi (last edited Oct 04, 2018 12:37AM) (new)

Mehsi Hello Jain! I did, sadly, most of the books I either read or tried and didn't like. :P But I did find 2 books that I haven't/that seemed interesting out of the few that I haven't tried or read.

After Nineteen Stories of Apocalypse and Dystopia by Ellen Datlow and The Monstrumologist (The Monstrumologist, #1) by Rick Yancey

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments The Monstrumologist sounds good! I think i have it on my kindle.

message 5: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Then we will read that one! I will start next week, kind of too busy today and this weekend. :)

message 6: by Jain (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Alright then! :)

message 7: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Going to start the book today, not sure how much I will read per day, it all depends on the book. :)

message 8: by Mehsi (last edited Oct 10, 2018 06:27AM) (new)

Mehsi 15% in and not really impressed. Quite a bit of it was some icky autopsy/necropsy, and I just wasn't too delighted with it. Plus I hated the doctor and how he treated our MC. :| He didn't feed the lad, sleep, why does the lad need sleep, and so on.

Plus it is all so fancily written. My grasp of English is pretty great, but at times I just had to blink and re-read a sentence, or even look up a word or two.

I am not sure how much I will read a day. Depends on if I have time/if I have other more fun things to read/do. :P

Edit: read 10 more %, but so far I am still not very impressed with the book. Plus I got an headache.

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments I'm glad its not just me, 20% in and I'm not feeling it.
Oh i hated the doctor too and i keep skipping lines i'm not sure i'll finish it but will see how this goes.

message 10: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi We could always switch books. Shall we give it another 10% and see what we both think then?

message 11: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Managed to squeeze in 10% during my lunchbreak. Man, it doesn't get better. Really, if anything it gets duller and duller and *snores* I am not sure if I will or want to continue, I will wait for your opinion.

I wouldn't mind switching books, and also wouldn't mind re-reading a book if you find one you want to read from the list that I already read. :)

message 12: by Jain (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Yeah I really tried but it gets worse.
Okay let’s switch books then, if u have any suggestions i don’t mind.

message 13: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi I am glad we are at least on the same page with disliking the book. :) I picked two books from the list, both are re-reads for me.

Coraline by Neil Gaiman
The Killing of Kayla Sloane by Kim Harrington

message 14: by Jain (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments I have read both of these books. What if we read something not on the list, can we do that?

message 15: by Jain (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments I have these books in mind if you would like, if not we can always read something else :)

We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix

A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay

The Haunting of Emily Stone by Amy Cross

I believe it is possible to ask for a new list (or if we can read other books (that Full of ghost book seems interesting)) since ours isn't working out. I am currently making dinner and going to eat it soon and afterwards I will be away, so I can't ask, but could you ask on the Q&A feedback thread?

message 17: by Jain (last edited Oct 11, 2018 10:52AM) (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Yeah sure i will do that.
Enjoy your dinner.

★ℕłℂØℓҾ★ (Nix) (ladyknightnix) | 4549 comments I figured I would leave the note here for you guys as well. The new policy is if your list is longer than 50 books and you can't find one you like on it, you may read any book tagged with your challenge genre that you both haven't read.

So, since your current list has 68 books, feel free to explore Goodreads on your own with your partner and find any book tagged horror to read together. Happy reading!

message 19: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Sorry for the lateness, had a very filled (and slightly stressy) weekend.

I guess we both were interested in that Full of Ghost book, so we can read that one. :)

message 20: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Well, I guess I will just start reading it when I have time this week.

message 21: by Jain (last edited Oct 21, 2018 11:14AM) (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Alright, so sorry i'm late i had troubles with my internet connection for the past week, i just got the book from my library, will read that book then.

message 22: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi It is OK. I just didn't see your message, so I already finished the book (it was pretty OK and I couldn't stop reading). Will be writing a review this afternoon.

message 23: by Jain (new)

Jain (jaxness_) | 18 comments Just finished the book! i thought it was ok, not what i expected but ok. there were parts where i just sped through them because either it was boring or just annoying specially the blog posts parts.
