Hey guys! My name is Taylor. I am the founder of this group. I created this group so that there would be a place for book lovers such as myself to talk about bookish things and not feel like it has to be formal or anything like in a blog post. Once a week I will be posting a new bookish topic for us to discuss. I wanted to start this week off by introducing myself and getting to know new members. Please comment on this topic with a little about you and why you love books.

Hi Taylor, thanks for making this group. I want to introduce myself. My name is Crystal and I love to read. I have my favorite books and genres like everyone and I like trying different genres too. My favorite type of format for a book is print but I like to read Kindle Versions, Ebooks, PDF. I love my Kindle App for my computer since I don't own a Kindle or cell phone. I love doing book reviews on my blogs and Goodreads. I look forward to reading and talking about books. I'm reading a debut Novel called Kitchen Addiction! The 2nd book in this series is Christmas Bizarre. In the debut novel at the end of the book there are recipes for you to make if you want. I love the book so far. It's very humorous.
Hey guys!! My name is Sam! I'm a 23 year old college student who reads whenever I get a spare second. I'll read pretty much anything, but I enjoy YA the best! Recently I've been really enjoying YA fantasy. I just finished an ARC of Stolen Time by Danielle Rollins and I really really liked it!!
Since YA fantasy is new to me, What is it exactly? I would love to read an ARC of a book sometime. Sounds like a good book.
hey guys! my name is also taylor, i’m 17 from new jersey, and i (obviously) love reading. i’ve always been a pretty bookish person ever since i was little. my favorite genres are classics and adult contemporary, but really i love poetic writing. i consider myself a writer even though i’m not published or anything. i’m taking ap english literature right now so pleaseeeee recommend me some english language classics!!
hi i'm autumn! i'm 19 and i'm from california. i've been a big reader since i was a kid. my favorite genre is fantasy!
Crystal wrote: "Since YA fantasy is new to me, What is it exactly? I would love to read an ARC of a book sometime. Sounds like a good book."It's basically just fantasy geared more towards young adults.

I haven't read many classics, but I'm trying to branch out more in the genres that I read. I think it's awesome you already consider yourself a writer. I hope you continue to write and read!
Emily wrote: "Hi! My name is Emily and I'm 15. I love to read, especially classics but I also enjoy other genres. My favorite book is The Man Who Was Thursday by G K Chesterton."Hi Emily! Welcome to the Bookish Things group! I've never read that book. I might check it out.

Hi and thanks for the invite. I'm Kevin (Kev is fine too), and I'm feeling rather old in this company, looking at other intros. I'm addicted to my Kindle even though I never believed I would deviate from print. Taking 200 novels on holiday in less than the space of 1 paperback was the clincher. Favourite books are probably HMS Ulysses by Alistair Maclean and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Being able to carry tons of books around with me at all times is only one of my favorite things about my Kindle. I have the Kindle Paperwhite so I can adjust the lighting which helps because I have really sensitive eyes. That's the main reason I love my Kindle so much. I still read print books though. I really like Fahrenheit 451 as well!

Hi Amanda! Welcome to the Bookish Things group. I can relate to being an anxiety-ridden introvert. lol. I hope you enjoy being a part of this group.
Hello, I'm Lela and this sounds like an interesting book group to join. I'm too am a book addict. I'm a senior citizen and I read just about anything; mystery, history, science, and biography. When I was working English mysteries were my passion but now I'm hooked on Scandinavian murder. I recently read a great new American author Tom Boumen "Dry Bones in the Valley" and a very skillful British Author named Flynn Berry who wrote "Under the Harrow". Both were mysterys but were filled with beautiful lyrical writing. I'm looking forward to learning about other members and hearing opinions on books and authors. My favorite authors are George Eliot, Michael Connelly and Ann Cleeves.

Thanks. I never heard of it until I joined Goodreads. Hope to read that genre sometime.
Hi everyone,I’m Amanda and I’m much older then many of you. However, books can quite easily be a bridge that brings all types of people together. I can’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t reading. I tend to like historical fiction, YA, sci-fi, fantasy, and almost anything with a kick-ass female protagonist. I also have aspirations to write the next big summer must-read, but honestly, life (and lack of confidence) gets in the way of my writing time.
Thank you Taylor for starting and inviting me to this group! I’m looking forward to talking books with all of you.

Hi Amanda, I don't know your age but I'm no young thing either. I do know I love books. If you can believe it, I just found out about Kindle books and the Kindle App this year. What are your favorite genres?

I am so glad you accepted my invitation! Welcome to Bookish Things! You are so right about books bringing readers of all ages together. I hope this group will do that. I hope you enjoy being in this group.
I just realized I asked all of you to introduce yourselves, but I didn't really introduce myself. My name is Taylor. I'm a 21-year-old book lover. I will read just about anything as long as it is interesting, but my favorite genres are YA, fantasy, dystopian/post apoc., Sci-fi, and I'm getting into some historical fiction. I love to read. I read print and on my Kindle. I love my kindle so much mainly because I have sensitive eyes so being able to adjust the light helps a lot. I also like to crochet and make bracelets with the knots (like the friendship bracelets you made when you were a kid). I am super excited about this group and I hope you all enjoy it!
Hi I'm Phoebe. I'm 19 years old and from the UK. I love YA fiction and dystopian fiction. I also love anything that centres around historical crime and true crime. I'm also a snail Mailer and love to write letters to people around the world. I'm currently studying creative media production as a foundation degree. I love to write to but film and media is another of my big passions. I also play football for a local team but I'm a lazy bean so sometimes all I want to do is read and drink tea/coffee.

Hi, I'm Bella, I'm 16, in the UK, and I love fantasy, crime, and sci-fi in any age genre, especially if it has a badass protagonist, and I'm currently working on my first fantasy novel. I also love beta reading, I don't have a bookshelf yet so my room is full of stacks of books that will probably fall on me soon, and my cat has grown into a furry monster and I don't want to cut it off but my family says it's a 'problem'. My favourite book at the moment is Pirate: Corsair by Tim Severin.

Hi, I'm Magda. I'm 16. I play basketball. I love reading. I'll read anything, but love thrillers and crime mysteries with twists. I am a nerd in its truest definition. I love Marvel, star wars, and everything in between.
Hi!Hope you don't mind my joining this group; it looked cool. :)
I'm Megan. I'm in my early twenties.
I love reading, writing, playing piano, and painting!
Been reading since I was about 5.
And I've self published two books, (a novelette and short story) in the last year.
I've been writing ever since a typewriter was gifted to me about ten years ago. xD
I love reading classics, mysteries, and adventure novels!
And also the occasional non fiction "read for the fun of learning new stuff" books.
Welcome to the group Megan. I'm in the middle of writing my first book. The book happened while trying to write a poem. I too like Cozy Mysteries, Mysteries, Suspense, Clean Romance and will try all books at least one time as I will with genres.
