Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments I loved The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant (Fred, the Vampire Accountant, #1) by Drew Hayes The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant. It started out a bit, well, uninteresting and unadventurous, but man, did it pick up and race to the end. A lot of humorous incidents and dialog, as well as a very decent story. See my Kindle notes to get a taste. Highly recommended!

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments My review of The Last Resistance: Dragon Tomb is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show.... It had the potential to be an excellent, Michael Crichton-esque story, but ... :( not, imo.

Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments Just finished A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles A Gentleman in Moscow. I can't say enough good about this novel. Read others' reviews if you want a book report. All I can do is utter "Wonderful!" My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

StarMan (thestarman) | 1898 comments I read most free books that come my way, even ones I probably have no business reading. Prime example:

Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano
Wither by Lauren DeStefano

It's a dystopia, and is often described as a YA version of The Handmaid's Tale

2.25 star review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

But the cover is pretty, and there's lots of candy-eating inside. Younger Adults probably like this book more than I did.

StarMan (thestarman) | 1898 comments Jack Reacher #19

Personal (Jack Reacher, #19) by Lee Child

PLOT: Military drags ex-MP Jack Reacher back into the fold. They hope to stop a super-sniper who may soon be aiming at bigwigs in upcoming G8 summit.

[ I remind Jack:   Trust no one! ]

~3 stars. Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

StarMan (thestarman) | 1898 comments Glory O'Brien's History of the Future by Amy King
Glory O'Brien's History of the Future by A.S. King

An odd-ish little contemporary YA book, with some magical realism elements. And believe it or not, I liked it.

I think there's going to be a movie about this, too, with Tom Hanks!

Happy Holidays to you, as well!
