Frustration!! I let my granddaughter check out a book in my name. After a month the library sent me a notice it was overdue. I asked my granddaughter about the book. She left it out in the rain!!! Now I have a book to pay for. Sorry! No more checking books out in grandma's name.

Of course if she is a young child there would still be consequences (and yes no more taking books out on my card). Happens in my Library too.
At my job that would earn her what we call a work chore. She has to work half an hour a day until the book is paid off in sweat equity, and for that terrible disrespect to a LIBRARY BOOK (insert steam-exiting-ears emoji) it had better be a chore she hates, like "tootsie roll patrol" in your yard.
Oh, No! Definitely agree that she must face the consequences and "pay back" the fine ... either in sweat equity or from her allowance (if she gets one).
