Chloe (Always Booked) (alwaysbooked) | 18 comments I’m really struggling to connect with this story. I don’t like the characters so I guess I just don’t care enough about what happens to them. Ainsley is my favorite.

Elizabeth Meadows (lizziefaye) | 424 comments I rather enjoyed this section. I was very interested in the historical parts with Magnus and Annelise.
I'm also excited about the Faberge' egg hunt. And I think the idea is plausible. My husband has a British ancestor who was a sculptor. He once did a sculptor for either Rolls or Royce (can't remember which) and he paid him with a car. Payments of special items like that probably happened a lot.

Donnajo Chloe I'm struggling with this book too. I've always loved Susan's books. She's even a friend of mine on Facebook. I have other books (arcs for net galley) going too so it's not my only book to read so another reason that I'm taking longer. But I feel the storyline is just dragging.
Elizabeth, maybe that is why I'm struggling I'm not a person who enjoys reading books with history or even ones that go back and forth in time. I hope with the Faberge' egg coming into it, it will pick up. I can't believe this book is a part of series. That there is a second book after this one. I think for me this book has to grab me before the end of the book to get me to continue with the next book and even if I do it won't be right away. I hope I'm able to push though the rest of the book before the end of the year. I'm a fast reading having read past my goal for the year already which was 200 books and I'm past that. It's just with the review books I'm reading more of those than my own print books this year. I hope to change that next year. Or a need a better system.
