First Week Firing - Malta - Sarah Brynne
Age 29
Occupation Owner, Children’s Acting Academy
Lives Manchester
Sarah owns and runs an acting academy for children. Sarah says she wants to be a role model to her young daughter and hopes her hard work and life experience will aid her in the process. She admits she’s not good with business terminology and is angered by people in business who turn their noses up at the working-class demographic. Sarah hopes her charm and persuasive skills will see her through to the end and believes her creativity will be her biggest strength.
'I am me, I don’t have a posh accent or pretend to be anyone else. My personality sells me, my passion to succeed and work ethic.'
I like Sarah because I can relate to her northern brought up. I am gutted that she has got fired first because I can learn from her. However I had to admit the right one has been fired first.
She is too impatient to things and that caused problems for them to fail the task.
Here is Sarah's Audition: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06m...
This is the first week The Apprentice show: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...
Here is the You're Fired: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...
I already kept Jasmine and Kurran as my favourites.
If I was there I wouldn't like it because I don't like traveling and the first week has started off travelling to Malta.
I liked the boys team because they got on so well and there doesn't seem to be much arguments then there is in the girls team. My favourite team won. I like a team that gets along with the tasks without getting into a drama.
If someone told me in a business task that the we are going to travel abroad I will automatically quit the process.
However Malta seems to nice warm and sunny island. But still claws are open if you try to chuck me there.
What I liked about the task is that it was based on culture. I would definitely PM that task because it is about logistics. You are given to buy 9 items and you'd have to split the items. If you have a team of 8 items. This is so simple because as a PM you should split the team of four. As a PM you should be in charge of buying 2 items while the others buy 1.
Before they set off it would be great idea that we know the product first in the first part of the hour. Each of us supposed to be in control of finding the product. If the item isn't found that person is responsible.
In the other half of the team must have one sub-team leader. I like the fact that they have to locate the items. It is a good task if I was doing it and I am all about the logistics.
Before anything they need to get to know each other first. I'm not that fan of Kayode. I have mix feeling for Sarah. Jackie has an interesting character. I don't know if I like the bit when they stereotype each other team.
I don't think I like when someone chucks someone under the bus and don't do things important themselves. I thought Jackie was a backstabber for suggesting Jasmine as a PM. Jasmine wasn't fully confident about the role anyway. I bet she didn't want to reject the statement because she didn't want It to affect her. What makes things worse she tells them that Jackie didn't want to waste time on the decision of who they want to be Jasmine. However I do like her game plan and it was very tactical. It is definitely good skill she has got. It come across hard and cold.
I liked the guys team more. Instead of making other people being a PM. You quickly have a person to take the PM role first. I am not fan of Kayode but O think it was really great that he took the initiative and it showed he had confidence and seemed easily passionate to be the PM. I also liked it when the other teammates were willing to have him has PM. In away it isn't a good idea because it makes them look like they are chickening out and Lord sugar doesn't like people who are reluctant. It is quite risky as well because you wouldn't imagine for someone to confidently say they need to be a PM for the first week.
It is important to have resources for them if they are going to look for items in abroad countries. So a map and local directory is essential.
For the first task they will be looking for 9 items including: Honeycomb, Maltese House, Octopus, Filigree Boat, Wine, Fisherman Trap, Salt, Ghonella and Hoosier.
On the guys team. They got the information about the items really quickly and methodically and they have already left.
In the girls team there weren't that many patience going through and it has costed the time. I feel like people do not respect Jasmine's system. I think they will be rushing out too much and not know what do buy. I like Jasmine's steps and style. It is definitely carefully planned but the others like Khadija are just disruptive.
They need to have clarity of the items. I like Jasmine since she is very logical.
From the boys they have picked up information's about the products they do not understand from secondary resource which is useful. Phone calls is an important key thing in this task. The problem is that I am not sure if they know where they need to go.
Jackie just states opinions and moans but she doesn't be positive.
I would love to have a filigree boat as an household ornament.
When you go to shop to find something you don't know you would ask the shop assistant. That is just a logic.
I like this task because you get to use logistics this is something that I'd be psyched for.
Then we have the bit where Sarah was underlined at risk form the process. She was very impatient. She doesn't have a gentle approach when asking someone where things are. Also very forceful which I didn't like. She needed more thought. I'd be annoyed by that.
I do think Kurran is good looking. Did you know there were two types of octopus? You have the animal and you have the pipe which deep sea divers use.
Another thing that affected Sarah was that she tried taking over another persons leading for the product. I think it was unprofessional and the sub-team leader even said that she will choose Khadija to take on the lead for her product. She was very sneaky.
For the boys team I think they're just wasting time because the shops are closing and they have limit of time until they go to the boardroom.
I don't like Jackie. She just sits back and let others do the dirty work. she has done anything to contribute the task. she gives critics but doesn't do anything that would help them.
Third time Sarah became impatient and forceful.
For the girls team. There were lot of impatience and the group was forced. Khadija and Sarah both showed it the most. Sarah definitely hijacked Khadija in negotiating.
For the boys team I don't think Kayode was a perfect project manager. He was good but he wasn't sure of himself of what few items were and they ended up not getting everything. He was so disorganised. He just makes excuses.
So overall the boys won and the girls lost. I personally liked the guys team more because of their cooperation.
It was against the PM Jasmine, Jackie and Sarah. And Sarah got fired.
I think Jackie should've got fired because I didn't like what she did but then ultimately the right one left the apprentice.
I learned what a Ghonella and hasira was. I also learned that there is a scuba diving equipment called octopus. I also learned that Gozo was the best place to find salt.

Second Week Firing - Comics - David Alden
Age 32
Occupation Tax Advisor
Lives East Yorkshire
David claims that he can speak to anyone about anything, though he gets frustrated when others don’t share his unwavering positivity. He also admits that being too trusting has been his downfall in the past.
'My friends and family call me the Duracell bunny as I take on so much and never stop. I just keep going.'
I liked David because one thing he really reminded me of is Harry Potter. Also the fact that he is into writing fictional books. I also find him really adorable and nice and I am gutted he got fired. I honestly thought Kurran got fired. He said he was a really good pitcher but he was terrible. I think he should've got fired as well. I also thought David was adorable in the audition too.
David did a mistake in bringing the negatives into a pitch which was actually made me laugh. But the right one was chosen. So the right one has left the process.
Here is David's audition: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06m...
This is the second week The Apprentice show: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bn...
Here is the You're Fired: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...
I'm not much of a animator-type of person. But I would love to do the second task because it is to do with writing a comic. Comics count as books and I love to write. It is definitely fit for the bookworm. I'd definitely PM the first task since it is about comics. Although I am not good at the art design of the comic.
I sort of liked the boys comics more because I thought the Benji guy looked cute. However the girls team were better they got more. But however I would stick to the boys team. I thought the animation of the boys team was so up my street and it was really cute when it was going to travel around with a magic telescope.
I enjoyed the comic task because it was fun. The comic thing was really up my street. I was a fan of Beano when I was younger. Benji reminded me of a reference to Ben 10. the fact that it is about space, the boy has brown hair and he is called 'Benji'. Kind of catchy. I don't understand what other peoples problems were with the name. I thought it was good.
This task was about story design, storyboarding, target an audience and pitching. I would likely to PM the task because I love writing. It would be interesting me though to create a comic. I have made my own animations and I have to admit mine are good.
The first part of the task is animation and storyboarding. We'd split the two to do for animation and storyboarding. I'd definitely be more comfortable in storyboarding but the other team wouldn't be bad option for me.
They also have to design a digital animation of the comic for advertisement. This would be for the pitching as well as to introduce to the comic. It would work for trailers too.
The second part is to have to self the product targets their audience. After they get comments they can valuate what the kids thought of it so they can pitch it to the retailers.
Then the last part is to pitch to the larger retailers of the comic stores.
Review incomplete. Still more to come...
