It's a given that all "library people" love books, but one thing we love even more is getting to connect readers with authors. We've decided to launch our official "Author's Corner," meant so our members will be able to connect with authors, and authors will be able to promote their books to our members. Before looking any farther, please read this post in full!

Author’s Corner Rules
• Authors must be active members of the book club. An author will have to have made five (5) posts before promoting their books. These posts can be in any of the ongoing threads.
• Authors will keep their promotions and/or special deals limited to the “Author’s Corner – Promotions” discussion in the book club. Promotional posts in any other threads will be considered spam and will not be tolerated.
• Authors may promote a series in one (1) topic thread. Each series by the author will be allowed a separate thread, but no separate threads will be allowed for books of the same series. Excessive topic threads will be deleted and a warning will be issued.
• Authors will only be allowed to promote books that are in the target audience supported by the club. Books for adults/mature readers can be promoted in our adult book club, Leander Readers. Books for young adult readers can be promoted in our young adult book club, Literally Leander.
• Authors may suggest their books be considered for the featured book of the month, but we do not guarantee that said books will be chosen.
• Authors will be responsible for sending books to giveaway winners. We will not be involved in the mailing/delivering process.
• Authors are allowed to request members to read-for-reviews under “Author’s Corner – Giveaways”. Any exchanges or agreements will be made between the authors and the readers. We do not guarantee that authors will receive reviews for their books from our members, nor do we guarantee that said reviews will be positive in nature. Please see the Giveaways heading for more details.
• Breaking these rules will result in deletion of offending post(s) and a warning. If the author continues to break these rules, their posts will be deleted and they will be removed from the book club. We, as moderator, reserve the right to remove posts that break our Author’s Corner Rules as well as the General Rules of the club.

Guidelines for Posting
• Authors may start a new post by clicking on “new” at the top right of the Discussion Board. New posts can also be started by clicking on “Author’s Corner” and “new” at the top right. Please ensure that your new thread will be put in the Author’s Corner folder.
• Give us a little information about your book. Include the genre, any target audience limitations (i.e., YA listed as “16+”), and a summary.
• Please include a link(s) to your book, your Goodreads profile, your website, and/or your blog.
• Be sure to note your book’s publication date if it has not yet been released.

Giveaways
• Authors may make posts for giveaways of their books. If you are giving away multiple books in the series, please put them under a single topic.
• If your giveaway is being posted to request reviews, please note that in the title of your topic and in the body of your post. Once again, we cannot guarantee that our readers will review your book, nor can we guarantee that their review will be positive.
• List whether your giveaway is an Advanced Reader’s Copy (ARC) or if it is a final publication copy.
• Note if books are in print or ebook form.
• Note the regions the books are available (U.S. only, U.S. and Canada, etc.)
• Be sure to give us a start and end date for your giveaway.
• Please give us a link to enter your giveaway, via Goodreads, your personal blog, etc.
• If your giveaway is fraudulent, you will be reported to the Goodreads team, your topics removed, and your club membership revoked.

DISCLAIMER: Leander Public Library (hereto referred to as “we”) is not responsible for any posts by the authors, nor are we responsible for the content of their books. We do not, in any way, sponsor these authors or their books.

We are also not responsible for author-reader interactions or giveaway entries and information. All information shared will be between the author and the reader, and we will not be held liable for any fraudulent giveaways or mishandled information.
