Nancy (nancy_m) Let's try something different and have a real world, offline discussion for September. We'll pick a date and place and set up a monthly get together to talk about books and whatever else comes up. It'll be after work, probably at 7, and can be any place where 5-10 people can sit and talk. It can be a coffeehouse, a restaurant or something else.

I'm not sure where people will be coming from so let's start from the beginning.

1) What day of the week should we meet?
2) What week of the month?
3) What neighborhood?

My preferences are
1) Wednesday
2) Last week of the month
3) Back Bay

Your mileage may vary. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Anne Ipsen | 20 comments My preferences:
0) 7pm is OK. I actually prefer afternoon, before rush-hour, but know that leaves out 9-5 workers.
1) Wednesday is usually best, but other weeknights may also work
2) Last week (avoids some other regular events for me).
3) Back Bay, near Copley, Hynes, or Kenmore T stops; Park St. T stop is good too (both Green and Red line accessible).

Jennifer (redheadedjen) | 1 comments Monday or Wednesday are better for me.
The second week of the month would be good but I am open.
3. I live on the Red Line so that would be better but I am can get anywhere. I live and work in Quincy.

Shannon (acctnt_shan) 1) I like Thursdays but could also make Mondays or Fridays work. Not opposed to weekends either.
2) I'd prefer the last week as I'm in a book club at work as well and will be reading that book earlier in the month.
3) Back Bay works!

Shannon (acctnt_shan) Perhaps we should set up a Doodle for this?

I love doodle--who will pick some candidate dates?

Kristen | 7 comments I am joining this discussion late and clearly have taken a little siesta from the goodreads group, but have been looking to join another book club. What are you guys reading? I live about 10 miles north of Boston. Sorry for coming late to the party!

Shannon (acctnt_shan) Just to get things moving, I created a Doodle for the full last week of September, including Sat/Sun and a couple timeslots for people to choose from. If you haven't used Doodle before, basically you go through and enter your name and what dates/times you COULD do (give multiple options), and then at the end we can go with whichever option has the most votes!

Shannon (acctnt_shan) So far it looks like it's going to be a very small and intimate group lol

Anne Ipsen | 20 comments I don't seem to get updates/new comments automatically--I have checked all the right boxes and only found this latest by accident!
