We are so happy you've joined our little bookcoven, we cannot wait to read and discuss lots of amazing books with you!

Hey Jana (and everyone else!) Michelle here! I'm stay at home mom to 2 crazy awesome girls, cat&dog mom, coffee addict, occasional artist, bookaholic who is fascinated with the occult. I don't really practice anything, but I do have my little rituals, mostly using herbs, crystals, candles, oils and just setting positive intentions. I, too am a collector of many things, especially stones--my kids and husband bring me whatever they find, and I've got gifted stones all over.
Books and witchy vibes are the perfect combo, I just love this idea!
Thank you for inviting me to join! Looking forward to the awesomeness!
My two favorite things in one place! Books and witchcraft! HELLO EVERYONE! Thank you guys for the invite. It's awesome to see a bunch of people with the same interests as myself. My name is Simone. I'm 29. I have TWO 6th graders. Cat mom. I also have 3 extra large rescue dogs. I too have been interested in the occult since I was a kid. Even wanted to be an occult historian at one point. And I've been practicing for as long as I can remember. I am a sarcastic asshat but mean no ill will
I have a tea/coffee obsession. I run a new review blog. I grow any herb I can (except for anything extremely toxic. My dogs are dumb ((my kids too sometimes))....SMH... preteens ). I love my herb garden. I'm obsessed with pirates, Vikings, and witches (duh) and PLEASE don't get me started on my fandoms. Profession FanGirl over here.
Just like everyone else it seems, I too am a collector of things. I hoard books in hopes that ONE DAY Hubs give me my own bedroom, will build me shelves, and convert it to my own library. HAHA! I collect crystals and candles and stuff for my altar so I can switch it up during the seasons. I love any trinket or decoration that is Victorian Goth or weird macabre. It's always Halloween at my house. I even have a black Christmas tree for the kids ;)
Look forward to talking with everyone!
I feel like I just made four new best friends. I adore meeting people with the same interests and I cannot wait to chat more about the things we love! I am so excited to get to know all of you; and if you aren't already - follow me on instagram @BookishWiccanI can't wait to hear more from all of you. Going to create a topic today for a read-a-long option, where we can pick a book and read together and discuss, if everyone is up for that!

Hey gang! Jodie here, 29 (oh my God, I think that's the first time I've written that since my birthday last month...) and from sunny Brisbane. Originally a Lancashire lass but I moved over here a few years ago and ya'll couldn't pay me to move back to ol' Blighty!
I've always got my nose in a book and I've been reviewing for The AU Review since late 2015, so there's always a stack of books staring at me from my desk and demanding my attention. So, naturally, you'll find me bingeing Drag Race or spending hours on Assassins Creed instead.
Anyone that follows me on Instagram knows I live for dark lipstick and witchy vibes, so I'm fully here for this group! Give me a Gothic horror and a rainy night (less rare than you might think in Australia!) and I am good to go!
Oh and since everyone's mentioned their babies (furry or otherwise), I do have a lovely beagle/kelpie cross called Chester. He's the best reading buddy, the perfect excuse to take walks to clear my head, and he has the greatest eyeliner I've ever seen.
So keen to be part of an active community!

Merry Meet All,I'm Ravyn. I am the founder and creator of Book Witches on Goodreads, which I love doing and have done for years. :) I am not sure how active I will be here as well due to that taking up so much of my free time when I am not working, studying, etc. but I am always open to connecting with more wonderful Witches! :) Thank you for the invitation!
Blessings,
Ravyn )O(
Merry meet,I'm a lifelong book addict and hedge witch. I read a variety of books from classical literature through to history, science etc. I actually don't read too many witchy books but so have some on my to-read list which I must get around to.
I live in Gloucestershire, UK with my husband and our batty bengal cat. I'm in the planning process for my new herb garden once the builders have finished making a mess of it.
I'm into living as close as possible to nature, making as much of what I need myself. I also battle with ME/CFS so pacing what I can make myself with what I can physically do takes patience and committments (rather like the Craft!).
I'm quite a quiet solitary sort of person but I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.
If you want to follow me on instagram I am @naturalladyuk

Hi ladies,Merry Meet, I am Angie a 36 year old mum to 3 children and wife and a practicing witch with well over 6 years into my magical practice.
I adore my craft and draw from a multitude of aspects predominantly Wiccan but I try not to limit myself.
I read Tarot, work with crystals and pendulums and I consider myself a fairly crafty Hedge Witch I love nothing more tHan kitchen magic and making tinctures and potions I also make blessed bath salts to assist in our everyday magical workings to cleanse, purify and charge the witch within.
I am so excited to be part of an awesome group of divine femine energy with others who walk a similar path.
I love books obviously and enjoy nothing more than reading and connecting with fellow readers and women of like minded nature.
I don't have any pets at the moment but I adore animals and we hope when we move to a bigger property we will have animals again.
I look forward to getting to know you ladies more 😘
Blessed Be x
Happy Samhain (well, almost)!Hi, I'm Holly, I'm 53, the mother of a pre-teen daughter, and we live in a big old house in a little country town in the midwest of the US. We have three cats, an Italian Greyhound, two ducks and a horse or two.
I'm a lone practitioner of the Celtic pagan tradition. We observe the wheel of the year and we plant and sow in season.
I'm a bloodstock agent by trade. I also write for pleasure. I have no intention of publishing, but I have a great time writing books for myself to read, lol.
Looking forward to having some interesting and educational discussions here. Thank you for inviting me, Jana!
Hi everyone! I'm Gwen. Jana and I had one brief chat on IG and from that, the Bookstacoven was born! I've been running a month-long challenge on IG for October, which has taken all of my time, but I'm finally here. I see Jana already has the cauldron bubbling! ;D
I'm an author and solitary/hereditary/celestial witch living in Seattle. I love reading--mostly fantasy, and anything with witches is a definite yes. When not reading or taking pictures of books (my most recent obsession... perhaps soon to be replaced by candlemaking) I'm working on my next book.
I'm so excited to meet you all, and so grateful to Jana for the idea and the creation of this space, I've definitely been looking for this! <3
Hey everyone. My name is Sarah or Goddessofthestory on the internet. I live in Victoria BC, Canada. I am 33 with two furry little monsters called Kali and Loki. They may look like cats.... but I assure you they are little monsters.I love reading, writing and I take part in many artistic ventures, when I find the time. Just started a Jazz dance class. Yikes!
I am currently rediscovering my spirituality after many years of being closed off after an event in the past that caused me to build a wall around that part of myself. But... I have found myself again....persuing a witchy/pagan way of life once again.
But I am loving the supportive and amazing people I have found on instagram. And now we have Goodreads! So excited to be here.
Hi! My name is Amanda and I live in Central Oregon 🇺🇸 but I feel deeply connected to my Norwegian roots 🇳🇴 and love everything Scandinavian. I live in a very small rural town in the country with my husband, two kids and numerous animals on our cattle ranch. I also am a collector or things! I collect antiques, books and random objects. I’m an unofficial party planner and I use these objects to throw together parties whenever I feel the need. I’m a Pisces and have always had intuitive abilities. I was raised as a Christian but have never had much faith in the “church”. I always felt more at church/home in the outdoors and over the last few years with everything turning so political, I am realizing this is not how I want to spend the rest of my life. So, I’ve been sifting through my layers and discovering myself and connecting to a world that I’ve always felt a part of but know nothing about. I’m also learning how hard this is as a busy mom to learn, so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. You can find me on Instagram @whimsy_reader and my new witchy account @revival.of.whimsy
Hello everyone! I am Lauren, currently an eternal student getting my Master's in Boston, I am definitely a caffeine addict, and most definitely a Slytherin. I love reading, I just started to enjoy running, I desperately want a Sphinx cat for a pet (just have to convince my husband), and I am also attempting to write a book myself!
I am just starting out with Wicca/Paganism, so bear with me if I need some help sometimes :) I am super excited to share this space with y'all!
Hi there everybody, I’m Kellie. Well, this is a fine, witchy space ... may just have to lean my broomstick against the doorway, grab a coffee and have me a chin-wag!
Ok ... so I’m an author to a YA witchcraft series - 1 down 3 to go. About 9 years ago, I re-discovered a love of the occult and fell deeply into witchcraft research, only to realise it had always been there, buried but close to the surface.
Loving the different flavors here, get that cauldron bubbling!
Hi everyone, I'm Skye! I'm 22 from Ontario, Canada.I'm so excited to be a part of this group, thank you for inviting me! I'm fairly new to actually using my Goodreads account, and this is the first group I've been apart of, so I'm still learning how it works.
I'm a book loving cat mom, and I feel like I'll never be done with school.
I grew up in a household strongly against witchcraft (I was banned from reading/watching Harry Potter!), so I have only very recently started to learn things. I am very interested in learning more from all of you, and finding my own path!
Hello! My name is Zehra and I'm 25 years old and come from Germany. And beside books I love cats, music and video games.
Otherwise there is not much interesting to say about me.
But I'm wishing everyone a good start into the next year and hope we all will have a great book year as well. c:
Hi! I’m Maggie, book obsessed, more specifically witch/wizard book obsessed. I’m a Ravenclaw and I think my favorite series to date (HP aside) is The All Souls trilogy. I’ll keep this short - I’m interested in anything fantasy related and am really spiritual person. Looking forward to the book discussions. :)
Hello - My name is Keely. I stumbled across this group through an instagram post and am excited to be joining. I am 37 years old, a single mom to my son who just graduated high school this past June. I have been a practicing witch most of my life and was heavily involved in a Coven for several years. The Coven dispersed back in 2011 (only because everyone was on different paths - with several members moving out of state - and at this time, I stepped away from my spiritual practice for a while). It has been in these last couple of years that I have been pulled back into wanting to practice again and working on my own spiritual growth, so I am looking to connect with more like minded people.I am excited to be a part of this group and cant wait to get into all of the delicious books we will be reading. I have been a huge bookworm all of my life, so I have been wanting to get involved in a book club again.
Hey everyone!I just joined earlier today and wanted to pop in and say hi! I’m also from Ontario, Canada and am currently a student! I try to read as much as I can in my downtime but you know how school is 🤷🏼♀️. I’m a slytherin and looking forward to talking to everyone here! Which I don’t particularly ascribe to Wicca I like to think of myself as open minded and I’m totally down to learn whatever you want to teach! I’ll probably join in February’s read along but until then I’m sure you’ll see me lurking. I just got goodreads this month so I’m still trying to learn the app and such.
Until next time!
Hello! My name is Mimi and I am 22 years old.
Even though I don't pracitce witchcraft, I do enjoy reading and learning about it.
The book series that sparked my interest in reading stories that involve wicca/witchcraft, was the "Sweep" series by Cate Tiernan. She is one of my favorite authors. I have read various other stories about witches, but i have not found any that are as good as hers.
It is nice to meet you all.
Hello all!I'm Amanda, and I'm not a practicer (practitioner?) but definitely an avid reader of witchy stories. I work as the Kids/Teen Specialist for an indie bookstore in the Bay Area, and when I'm not reading I can be found rewatching The Vampire Diaries, listening to My Favorite Murder, petting my cats, or planning my next holiday.
Oh, and I'm a Slytherin. :)
Heya, Diana here and been studying Pagan things for most of my adult life (I'm currently 46) and I love a good witchy read. Hoping to get some good recommendations and maybe interesting discussions. Who knows, I might make a new friend as well. I'm limited to online library and Amazon Prime mostly so I'll follow along with your books if I can get my hands on them. If not, I'll sit back and watch and add the books to my TBR. Currently living in Italy but I'm American.
Hey! I'm Vi and I'm 18, I'm in my first year of uni. I love fantasy and contemporary books, some of them being The Young Elites, Throne of Glass, and The Sun Is Also A Star. I absolutely love anything to do with anti-heroes, and I'd love to discuss books and TV series alike.

This group was an idea spawned from Gwen {@gwenmitchellauthor} and Jana {@bookishwiccan} after Gwen's creation of the #WitchReadsOctober bookstagram challenge. We wanted to create a space for everyone to share their love of books, coffee, and all things witchy.
A little about me, your #BookstaCoven founder Jana, I am a 29-year-old wife, writer, petmum, caffeine queen, proud gryffindor, and practicing wiccan from Ontario, Canada. I started practicing over 15 years ago, and I have never looked back. My love of the occult started at an early age, and it's consumed me from the age of 16 on. Combine my love of the occult with my love of all things bookish, and you have my idea of the BookstaCoven. I am a collector of many things, from books, harry potter merchandise, and all things witchy, to coffee mugs, crystals, and candles. I cannot stick to one collection, and am always bringing more home to my library, altar, and other areas of my home. I cannot wait to connect with you all, and share my love of witchcraft, books, magick, and coffee with you all.
Creep it real, witches.
Love,
J.
