I’m nominating on the behalf of Chris and Keith (CHINNY), who have wished to suggest this book in the past...
Archie Wilson & The Beasts of Loch Ness by Mark A. Cooper
This is a fun Scottish Kid Lit book, where we meet Nessie, the Nuckelavae, and even a talking Sporran, I think... :)
If you’d like to add anything about the book, Chris or Keith (CHINNY), feel free to comment...

Rob Roy is in it as well. I never knew he became a cattleman until reading this, then at school we covered in history an it was true.

By way of something completely different, if it's not been read on here before, can I nominate Under the Skin

Part sci-fi, part hitchhiking guide to Scotland (nah, just kidding, you do NOT want to go hitchhiking...)

Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, in the Peninsula, France, and the Netherlands from 1809 to 1815 by John Kincaid. There are a lot of versions of this book listed - reprints, ebooks, kindle, abridged, etc. Some of the newer reprints are abridged versions of both this and his other work Random Shots from a Rifleman. You can find a free copy online at Project Gutenberg.
This memoir recounts the author's service in the famous 95th Rifles during the Napoleonic Wars.

Just realised I haven’t nominated...
You’re probably all quite familiar with the Shetland series (book or TV) but I’ll put it out there anyway. My pick is: Raven Black by Ann Cleeves
I’ll set up the poll on Monday so you have until Sunday to nominate your book :)

We’re reaching the end of the year and have read some fantastic books together in this group. Wild Card is a little way to ‘thank you’ to all you lovely Scottish Literature fans so you can nominate that book you’ve been wanting to share...
Wild Card is where you can nominate any book, any genre, any theme. Got a book you’ve been itching for the group to read - now is your chance! All I ask is there is a Scottish connection somewhere, be it the author, story location, or an eccentric Scottish character. Other than that, feel free to suggest anything! We haven’t tried Sci-Fi, Romance or Kid Lit in the group yet, or you could revisit a theme we’ve done before. So many books, so little time!
Please try to use the html link to your book so there's no mix ups.
Just one book nomination per person.
In a few days time, we'll vote for our favourite...
