Duration: November 1-November 30, 2018

Levels:

Level One: 1-5 tasks
Level Two: 6+ tasks

If you choose the cover option, please post the cover.
Tasks may be used as many times as you wish.

TASKS:
A pumpkin is a cultivar of a squash plant that is round, with smooth, slightly ribbed skin, and deep yellow to orange coloration.
🍂 1. Read a book with a round object on the cover OR with a deep yellow to orange cover.
🍂 2. Read a book with a pumpkin (not jack o'lantern) on the cover.

Native to North America, many kinds of pumpkins are widely grown for commercial use and are used both in food and recreation. Pumpkin pie, for instance, is a traditional part of Thanksgiving meals in Canada and the United States, and pumpkins are frequently carved as jack-o'-lanterns for decoration around Halloween.
🍂 3. Read a book set in North America.
🍂 4. Read a book where a character eats pumpkin pie.
🍂 5. Read a book where a character celebrates Thanksgiving.
🍂 6. Read a book where a character carves a pumpkin.
🍂 7. Read a book with a jack-o'-lantern on the cover.

In the United States, the carved pumpkin was first associated with the harvest season in general, long before it became an emblem of Halloween. In 1900, an article on Thanksgiving entertaining recommended a lit jack-o'-lantern as part of the festivities that encourage kids and families to join together to make their own jack-o'-lanterns.
🍂 8. Read a book where Halloween is celebrated. Tell us how!
🍂 9. Read a book where parents and children spend time together.

Pumpkins, like other squash, are thought to have originated in North America. The oldest evidence, pumpkin-related seeds dating between 7000 and 5500 BC, was found in Mexico.
🍂 10. Read a book set in Mexico.
🍂 11. Read a book from your WTR (on goodreads) with a 7 and 0 OR 5 and 0 in the list number. (May be 107 or 500).
🍂 12. Read a book whose author's last name begins with M.

Pumpkins are a warm-weather crop that is usually planted in early July.
🍂 13. Read a book set in a place where the weather is warm.
🍂 14. Read a book published in July.

Pumpkins produce both a male and female flower; honeybees play a significant role in fertilization.
🍂 15. Read a book with a male and female on the cover.
🍂 16. Read a book where honeybees are important to the story.

Association of pumpkins with harvest time and pumpkin pie at Canadian and American Thanksgiving reinforce its iconic role. Starbucks turned this association into marketing with its pumpkin spice latte, introduced in 2003.
🍂 17. Read a book where a character buys coffee at a coffee shop.
🍂 18. Read a book where a character buys a pumpkin spice latte.
🍂 19. Read a book published in 2003.

Illinois farmer Sarah Frey is called "the Pumpkin Queen of America" and sells around five million pumpkins annually, predominantly for use as lanterns.
🍂 20. Read a book where a character has a title similar to "the Pumpkin Queen of America". Tell us the title.
🍂 21. Read a book written by an author whose first name is Sarah (can be spelled differently).
🍂 22. Read a book where a character is a farmer.
