Jonathan sat a small table in the corner of the inn. The inn was basically empty, except for a couple men near the entrance playing cards, and two women chatting near the bartender. Jonathan pulled out some coins, and practiced some of his tricks, like disappearing coins. There was a small bowl of stew in front of him that he took a bite from every now and then.
Twen stepped into the tavern wearing a decorated gown of black and gold with a black cloak that hung lightly over her shoulders. Her mane of hair of light mahogany and silver was braid as small curls drifted around her face. Her sapphire eyes glanced nervously around the room as she made her way towards a table near a guy playing with coins. It wasn't often that she came to the tavern but she felt a sudden need to be there. She slightly cursed at herself for not thinking things through once again. She ordered a rum when the barmaid come to her. Once the woman walked away she tried to move deeper into the shadows as she could.
Jonathon noticed a new women walk into the tavern. She was dressed nicely, nicer than most folk who enter a tavern like this one, and that was what caught his attention the most. Jonathon motioned towards the bartender, and told her to send another drink the women’s way, and that he would pay for both.
Twen sighed as she looked around the tavern. She didn't really know what to think about it. Which was the same reaction she had when she went to her first tavern that some of the gypsies had convinced her to go. She was glad to at least have her curiosity satisfied now. Sadly, that was only a part of the reason she had come in. Her thoughts were interrupted when the barmaid sat two drinks in front of her. "It's from your admirer." She said and nodded towards Jonathon then walked away as she looked up to look at him confused.
Jonathan saw the women look up at him from the other table, and winked at her. He flipped a coin around, tossing it in the air and catching it again. This was almost a subconscious act for Jonathon, as he had been doing it for so long. He took another bite of his stew as he flipped it again, the coin reflecting of the pale light of the tavern.
Twen blushed at his wink but didn't look away. Her eyes sparkled with surprise and curiosity. She watched as he flipped the coin with a smile. She gave a nod of thank you before turning back to her drinks.(Sorry, it took so long. It's been a day of chaos already.)
Jonathon smiled at her before returning to his own meal. He put his coins away and pulled out a deck of cards. He set up a quick single player game and played while he ate
She looked back at Jonathon as she took a drink. She sighed watching him. Twen was curious of where he had learned that trick. The last time she saw it was someone who performed with the gypsies she was with for a short time. She looked away and took a few more sips debating how to cure her curiosity.
Jonathon finished his stew and set the bowl aside. He focused on his card game, his hands moving around as he spotted different combinations of the cards. He got the bartenders attention and asked for a water, not wanting to drink much while he was out in public.
Gia sat in a corner of the tavern shrouded in a slight shadow with a pint in her hand. The cloak she wore obscured most of her face and all of the rest of her body. The risk of getting recognized wasn’t one she was willing to take. There were many dangerous people here who would like to see her dead. She was here to observe those people. Many illegal activities were conducted in secret here, making it the perfect place for her to come to gain intel into Xandra’s black market and underground dealers. Eyes glued on the table next to her, she snickered to herself and took a sip of her pint as she listened to them cluelessly give away alll the details of their next import of illegal wepons.
Akinae wandered into the tavern and she sat next to Gia. "I don't usually see your type around here." She whispered to her quietly. "If you're looking for info on anyone here, I can provide it if given enough "motivation". She winked at Gia.
Gia bristled a little . My type? What the hell is she insinuating? she thought to herself as the woman sat next to her. Gia put her pint down and her fierce eyes locked with the girl’s “Movitavtion?” she repeated and smirked. “What sort of motivation?” she asked before taking another swing of beer, deciding to humor her.
"What I mean is a form of payment. Information in this realm is never free." She said calmly. "Though I'm pretty sure something is going down tonight in the market district." She took a sip of her glass of brandy.
Gia scrutinized the woman once more. “ Who did you say you were again?” she asked with a smirk. This woman was calm and collected sitting next to her. Surely if she really knew who she was, it wouldn’t be so. A thief probably. It was a good thing then that Gia had learnt from her past mistakes and made a point to chain her money bag shut and attach it around her waist.
"I'm just a person who digs up dirt on folks for the right price." She said calmly. She nodded her head towards a gentleman with an eyepatch. "He's one of the prime smugglers in this part of town. He sells anything and everything as long as you have the coin to fit the bill." She sipped some more of her brandy. "The name's Aki by the way."
