((Yes, it quite certainly is. I'll make a few more different villages sooner or later here and you'll be able to roleplay those as your home too :))
Zoe tidied up her place as she awaited customers. It was a good thing when there weren’t customers, but it was good to have money.
Kesreles got off her horse very ungracefully, walking towards the Healer's den. There was no way she was returning to the barracks looking like this, it was absolutely unacceptable. The blood on her left arm had soaked completely through her shirt, and she took in a sharp breath, the pain was getting worse. "Hello?" She called out, walking inside.
Zoe heard a voice and walked out into the main area. She saw the bloody arm, and went immediately into healer mode. “What happened,” she asked, grabbing her equipment.
"I was stabbed" Kesreles said simply, watching Zoe rush around, gathering her things. She didn't need to know anymore than that. Who knew who was a rebel these days? The only reason she was here was because she had heard that Zoe was a good healer, probably better than the one at the barracks.
Zoe pursed her lips, but didn’t question further. She knew knowing more was bad. “Take your shirt off. I need to see the wound clearer.” It was clear from her tone it wasn’t a request.
Kesreles did so after taking off multiple swords and daggers attached to her back and arms and such. She was only wearing an armored breastplate underneath her shirt, as she had taken off the rest of her armor earlier. "Is this alright?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.
“Yes.” Zoe grabbed the women’s arm, and inspected the wound, careful not to hurt her. “It’s a good thing you came to me. This could get infected quickly.” She went to her pile and grabbed some leaves. She mashed them up and then layered it onto the wound. “This will help your pain and any infection.”
"Thank you" Kesreles said thankfully. It stung quite a bit, but she didn't say anything. Reaching into a small pouch by her waist she asked "What do I owe you?" She had enough money, but after this she would have to be careful because she had just gotten a new sword.
((there really isn’t a set currency yet, but I’ll be sure to add one later. it’ll be like bronze, silver and gold coins so go ahead and use those for now :))
Kesreles handed her three silver. "I was never here" she said, looking into Zoe's eyes. It was just as much of a threat as it was a warning, yet it lacked the force she usually had. "Thank you again" she told the healer, standing up.
“There is no need to threaten. I don’t tell anyone who my patients are. I don’t even learn their names.” She took the coins and put them aside. “Is there anything else?”
"Nothing else. Thank you miss." Kes said polietly. "I appreciate your confidentiality" she gave Zoe a small smile before walking outside to her beautiful dark Thoroughbred/Friesian cross horse.
Zoe nodded. She gathered up the unused herbs and put them back in her stock. She wished she had an assistant. Would have made life a little less lonely.
((where do you want to go from here?))
Silver stumbled down the road, clutching her side. She had
Zoe rushed over, trying to get the women to sit down. “Get back in here,” she yelled toward the woman outside. “I think I’ll need your help.” She set the women down, then rushed to the back and grabbed a pail of water. She went back to the injured women, and began to clean the wounds out.
Kesreles hesitated for a second, but unmounted and hurried back inside. “What do you need me to do?” She asked Zoe, but wasn’t really paying attention as she was looking at Silver. She automatically visibly searched her for a weapon of some sort, but could find none from her point of view. The second thing she noticed was her silver eye, incomparable to her green. It was a curious thing indeed...
Silver groaned a little, moving her hand for the healer to clean it. "I've never been good at dodging knives." She muttered, managing a small smirk before wincing and then blinking dots out of her vision. The gash was deep and wide, having gotten an artery. If Silver had come later, she would most likely have been dead, but she had timed this right. She blinked a few more times before looking at the new woman and tilting her head. Silver hair is oddly common nowadays.((Her outfit: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/d2/77/...))
“I need you to lay down. I need to see how deep the wound is.” Zoe looked at the woman she had called in. “In the back room, there is needle and thread. I need to stitch this wound up.” The wound was very deep. She pressed the extra bandages on it, doing her best to stop the blood flow.
“Alright” She nodded her head then headed to search the back room. She found the needle and thread on a shelf towards the back and grabbed them before heading back out and handing them to Zoe, still keeping a cautious eye on Silver.
Zoe grabbed the needle and thread, and set in the table next to her. “The green leaves in the back. The ones I used in you. They should still be in the open.”
She spun on her heel and went back into the back room. She didn’t know how many leaves Zoe wanted, so she took 8 of them and held them out to her, curious.
Zoe kept one hand against the wound, and mashed up the leaves with her other. She smushed then in her bowl, until it was a thick mush. Zoe took some and spread it against the wound. “This will sting,” she said.
Silver nodded and winced, forcing herself to whimper. "Been meaning to get some leather padding for a belt..." She muttered, wincing and partially closing her eyes. Silver took a deep breath and was starting to wonder why she was doing spy work. She'd most likely get in trouble but she was going to get her information how she wanted to.
“Don’t move. This is going to hurt a lot, but if you move, you’ll tear it, and make it worse.” Zoe grabbed the needle and stuck the thread through it. She began to stitch it up, using one of her hands to hold the women down. After every stitch, she set the needle aside and spread a little of the green paste on the stitch.
Kes turned away, giving them as much space as she could while staying close if Zoe needed her again. Now that she thought about it, she didn't know why she had stayed to help the silver-haired woman, there was no incentive and she could be a rebel for all Kesreles knew. Maybe it was just what Isobel would have done, maybe it was just that.
Silver winced and groaned, whimpering. She would not admit it was easier to show pain than hide it but Silver was still just a kid and pain was something a kid should not need to hide. Silver stilled, trying her best not to move, her green and silver eyes tearing.
Zoe bit her lip as she concentrated on stitching up the wound. She finished the last stitch, and tied off the end. She rubbed the last of the paste on it, and stepped back. “How does it feel?” She grabbed one of the cloths from the stand and wiped her hands on it.
She turned back, looking at them both while leaning against the wall, careful not to put too much pressure on her arm. She pitied the girl, but at the same time was curious as to what had happened to her. This wasn't your everyday wound.
Zoe turned to Kes. “You do not tell anyone you were here. You do not tell anyone about this girl. She was never here. So you understand?” Zoe was very adamant about patient confidentiality.
Silver slowly sat up, hand over her wound, grimacing. She glanced at the two women with a pained smirk. This was certainly going to be going interestingly. Silver took a deep breath and slowly stood up, one hand on the table as the room spun. “Thank you very much, ma’am. How much do I owe you?” She asked, her voice cheerful and full of mischief.
“And where do you think you’ll be going? That wound can easily be reopened, and you will have to come back to me.” Zoe said to the young girl she had just patched up.
"Why are you complaining?" Silver asked, eyes widening a little. "If it gets reopened, I'd have to pay you twice! Nothin' wrong with that is there?" She asked, tilting her head. "As for the first question," Silver sighed, "no clue."
"I understand, I have no interest in telling anyone" Kesreles pointed out, meeting Zoe's gaze smoothly. In truth, she was extremely curious, but not about to admit it. She seemed pretty serious and although Kesreles had no doubt she could take her down, she wasn't looking for a fight. For now.
“I’m not greedy. Money helps me survive, and I Amy not get many customers, but I don’t enjoy having one for the same injury. Makes it look like I am a bad healer.” Zoe stood up straight and began to clean up her supplies. “You are staying here so you can rest.”
Silver pouted. "Ain't no way in the nine realms I am staying here. I don't do well with sitting around for long. I promise to avoid a fight for at least a week but I ain't stayin' around. It'd so boring." She said, holding her side all the same.
“I don’t care. You must stay for at least an hour so I can keep an eye on that wound. Besides, you look like someone who would get into a fight anyway. I see those all the time.” Zoe finished putting her stuff away and sat down on the chair next to the door to the back room.
"Would you mind if I stay here for awhile as well?" Kes asked. She had been too wrapped up in Slver to notice the rainstorm that was surging outside. "Is it alright if I bring a few things in?" She asked Zoe, looking at her across the from from where Kesreles now stood by the door.
“Very well, be quick about it though.” Zoe stood and looked over the wound once more, then grabbed a book from her bookshelf. Zoe sat down and opened it to a marked page, and began reading.
“Thank you” was all Kesreles said before disappearing into the storm for a few minuites. When she came back, she had a leather satchel slung over her back, and a dog at her heels. She sat down on the floor where she had just been standing. Her dog next to her, she opened a seemingly old and musty book, and began to flip through it.
