Hi there Witchy Fiction readers,
I only meant to add to the bookshelf for the next few months- but there's so much cool witchy fiction out there and I got a bit carried away- we're booked (ha, yes, pun intended) up through January 2020. Check out the bookshelf, let me know if there's something missing that you'd like to see added.

FYI! Starting "Half Spent was the Night" by Ami McKay in 2 days! Looking forward to it. Hope your holidays are merry thus far.
Hi witchy readers,
I changed the next book we're reading to The Witch of Blackbird Pond- I had forgotten that the Paula Brackston book wasn't out yet. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Hey readers,
Looking forward to starting Star Cursed (Spotswood) in a few days! If you haven't read the precursor, no worries! Join in anyhow! Hope you're enjoying "A Discovery of Witches" if you're participating in that read now. I loved it :)

Hi there readers,
I did some tidying up of our group pages today- had some weird things going on with deleted discussions.
Welcome to newcomers! If you have questions, please post them here! We're currently reading Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood.
That's all for now.

Hello Witchy Fiction readers,
I messed up the dates by accident- we'll be starting Shadow of Night by Harkness on May 20th. So enjoy a break :) I'll try to tidy up our page in the mean time.

Hey there witchy readers,
Holidays holidays. We don't start our next book until January and I'm looking to refill our bookshelf full of witchy goodness. SO I'm taking requests- is there any witchy fiction that you'd really like to see on there?

Hey there ladies and gentlemen of witchy fiction! Whatever you celebrate, I hope your holidays have been lovely. I'm working on restocking and organizing our bookshelf. If you take a look, you'll see what I've scheduled for us for this year. I'm super excited about some of these books.
Please feel free to invite friends, post on your social media, etc. I also increased the length of most of our reads- I was keeping it at about 2 weeks per book before, but now I've made it 3- hope that's acceptable to you all.
For our newer folks, I am thrilled you're here. This is not a high maintenance group- participate and read as much as you want/can. I posted the books we'll be reading this year and I'll create the discussions for them in the following days. If there's something you want to read, let me know and I"ll add it (assuming it's Witchy Fiction, though I'm open to some witchy non-fiction).
I haven't posted much on social media in the last year or so (I'm an old soul, what can I say), but I'll put it out there that this group exists and hope for more folks to join us.
I look forward to reading and discussing with you all.
Blessed be-

Hey witchy readers! Anyone who read/is still reading Time's Convert, hope you're loving it- I certainly did. Just a heads up that we'll be starting The Lost Child of Lychford by Paul Cornell on the 25th. See you there :)

me too, I'm looking forward to this book. What's your favorite Brackston book so far?

So far my favorite is The Winter Witch. I need to make sure The Silver Witch is on our bookshelf too; definitely want to read that.

I haven’t heard of this one yet!! Yes, new stuff! I’ll definitely be checking this out. Any other witchy stuff you’d like to see on the bookshelf here??

You have a lot of good ones already on the list!
I'd say all of Paula Brackston's books of course. And Alice Hoffman has a new book out next month (another prequel to Practical Magic) that I'm looking forward to.
I think you already have Louisa Morgan's books on the list? I loved A Secret History of Witches, enjoyed The Witch's Kind, and haven't yet read The Age of Witches. I like that they're all stand alone stories instead of a series, so I can read them in whatever order I want. :)
I'm sure there are more on my to-be-read list, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
I'm just happy to finally be able to sync up with the reading list here for the next book (and that it's one of my favorites)! I always seem to miss when this group starts a new book. The Goodreads interface on the mobile app (which is where I mostly use it, isn't the best design).
Happy End of 2020 Witchy Readers!
I'm working on our bookshelf for 2021. Here's some info regarding the new year of reading.
-There are so so so many books I want to have on the shelf, but not enough time. SO I've filled in a book per month up through 2022. It's likely that the 2022 shelf will be edited at some point.
-I've given a full month for each book this year. In the past, I've felt that this was too long for a reading. However, I know some readers miss the beginning of a new book, or are simply very busy. I'm hoping a longer window of read-time will allow more people to join a read (late is fine), to read at their pace, and to participate. Honestly, I think having more time to luxuriate through a book will be nice.
-LRozzi- thanks for the HEX referral, I added it as our October book- a spooky read will be fun.
-Shawne- I added the newest Brackston from the "Found Things" series, thanks for the heads-up from your comments. Looking forward to that one.
-Some of you may have noticed in December I've assigned McKay's Half Spent Was The Night. We've read it, I know. But it's perfect for Yule/Christmas/Whatever you celebrate. And I love it and just can't help myself.
-Last and most importantly, this group is purely for fun. Read at your leisure. Join in when you can. You can participate in discussions I post and/or start your own! The rules of the group are posted below:
We show each other and all expressed opinions respect. No spamming or advertising here. Mark your spoilers. If you don't know how to mark your spoilers, it shows you how under "some html is ok" at the top of the comment box. If that doesn't work for you, simply write "SPOILER" so others can choose to skip.
Be nice, no adverts, mark spoilers.
Looking forward to another year of reading. Always feel free to request books for the shelf, any time of year. Thanks and Happy New Year!
