Here is the link to the 2019 version of Mount TBR: https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
Please remember to keep posting this year's reads here on Mount TBR 2018.

The Virtual TBR challenge is GOLD! I'm obviously in, since I have lots of books I marked here on GR that I don't own yet (old books and new releases), but will probably get/ check out from the library, and I can't count those for the original TBR challenge. Can't wait for both the challenges next year! Already making a list!
I'm so glad folks are liking the Virtual TBR challenge idea--I hope all the folks who were disappointed because library/borrowed books didn't count here will find the new challenge.
I'll be joining on both challenges. I do love the new Virtual challenge along with our traditional one. I always seem to have a stockpile of library books and the ever present list of books I want to read. And of course all the other books I already own! Fantastic Bev!PS: Love the picture for the virtual group with Picard!! ❤️

Thanks! I had an argument with my scanner over trying to get my adjusted holodeck image in there....

Hilary (A Wytch's Book Review) wrote: "Just going for the normal - I have enough TBR without adding in library books lol."What she said^^ But the idea is still awesome, and if I ever manage to decimate my TBR at a faster pace than I am adding to it, then I will consider it in the years to come ;)
BevHave you decided NOT to do the quarterly check-ins in 2019? I only saw a year end check-in mentioned in the 2019 rules. I enjoy doing the quarterly check-ins and seeing other members creative posts. I'm not doing it for a prize what I will miss is the fun.

Nell--I may go ahead and do check-ins for every quarter (especially if you all like them), but I will have to limit my prize drawings.

I hope you decide to continue the quarterly check-ins. Since I'm trying to reduce my mountain (albeit not very successfully) not offering a book prize is fine with me.
The check-ins have always been great fun and I never expected to win anything anyway :) Also, leaving out prizes would allow participants of the check-ins to chat in the thread, which is something I missed in previous years when it was necessary to restrict comments for the sake of drawing a winning message number.

I think I'll restructure and keep the number of check-ins as before. Since prizes don't seem to be a premium, I'll offer an end-of-year prize and allow chatting and cheering on the other check-ins. Sound good?

Margaret: Glad we could help! We'll welcome you back with open arms if your TRB pile gets out of control again... In the meantime, you might be able to do the Virtual TBR challenge--which counts all books that aren't yours (you can add to that list as you go next year).

Yay! Thanks for joining me in the virtual mountains.
Yay! Thanks for joining me in the virtual mountains.
I may try to do both because I have physical books but also a ton of library books that I want to read but not necessarily own. So excited for these challenges in 2019.

Would love to have you join me on both!

I love the idea of a virtual TBR! I keep finding borrowed books :( and this would be a definite incentive to clear the decks! Thanks, Bev — great idea!
