Mount TBR 2019 discussion

Hi all, I decided to try this mountain for 2019. I'm still finishing El Toro for 2018 and I'm struggling! So I'll set a more realistic goal for myself for next year.

Welcome back, Catherine! Yeah, I keep wanting to make the big one, Mount Olympus, but I've learned that Mount Everest is really my peak. Hopefully, we'll both exceed our set goal.

In 2017 I set Mt. Kilimanjaro as my goal and exceeded it! So then I got cocky and set El Toro for this year. It was just a little too much. Either way though, I'm still getting through a lot of TBRs, so it's all good!!

For 2019 I'm going to try really hard to finish all of the TBRs that were on my list in 2018 that I didn't get to. I DID get my 2018 mountain climbed, just ended up reading some other TBRs than what I had planned. I have no shortage of TBRs so my biggest problem is getting distracted by all of the new books that come out.

Finished my first TBR for the year! TBR #1 is An Elderly Lady is Up to No Good by Helene Tursten. I bought this book last fall and had hoped to read it around Christmas time, but I wasn't able to get to it then. It's a cute book.

Unlike last year, I didn't have any books in progress going into the new year, so I think this will be my only book for today. I started a few others, so I hope to get one or two more done in the next few days.

Finished TBR #2 for the year, Perfectly Clear: Escaping Scientology and Fighting for the Woman I Love by Michelle LeClair. This is another one that I bought last year. I've been dying to read it, but when I bought it last fall I was still trying to finish my 2018 TBR challenge, so I set it aside. I really am going to read some older TBRs too, I promise!!

Finished TBR #4 for the year, The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.

Finished TBR #5 for the year, Wildcard by Marie Lu.

Finished TBR #6 for the year, I Know You Know by Gilly Macmillan.

Finished TBR #7 for the year, Surrender, New York by Caleb Carr.

Finished TBR #8 for the year, A Crafter Knits a Clue by Holly Quinn.

Finished TBR #9 for the year, The Changeling by Victor LaValle.

Finished TBR #10 for the year, The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths.

Finished TBR #11 for the year, The Janus Stone by Elly Griffiths. If I weren't reading some other books right now, I would just be tearing through this series. It's so good!

Finished TBR #12 for the year, The House at Sea's End by Elly Griffiths.

FINALLY finished another TBR, To Die but Once by Jacqueline Winspear. This was TBR #13 for the year.

Finished TBR #14 for the year, Red Clocks by Leni Zumas. I really liked this book. It's kind of similar to The Handmaid's Tale.

Finished TBR #15 for the year, Blood Orange Brewing by Laura Childs.

Finished TBR #16 for the year yesterday, Bound for Murder by Laura Childs.

Finished TBR #17 for the year today, Motif for Murder, also by Laura Childs.

Finished TBR #18 for the year, Jazzed by Donna Kelly. This is one of the Annie’s Attic books.

You've read some great books; Kate Quinn (I currently have the Alice Network out from the library but I love both her Borgia and Rome series) and Elly Griffiths. I really want to read Red Clocks. Good luck with the rest of your climb.

Hi Karen! This was my first time reading Kate Quinn so I'm definitely going to be reading more of her in the future. I recommend Red Clocks. It's great.

Finished TBR #21 for the year, The Girlfriend by Michelle Frances.

Finished TBR #22 for the year, The Uninvited Guests by Sadie Jones. This one’s been in my TBR pile so long I don’t even know when I bought it. At least five years!

Finished TBR #23 for the year, The Diary in the Attic by DeAnna Julie Dodson.

Finished TBR #24 for the year, Hostess With the Ghostess by E.J. Copperman. I should be slightly more than half done with my challenge and I’m not quiet there, but I’m still hoping I can finish!

Finished TBR #25 for the year, The Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams.

Finished TBR #26 for the year, Dragonwell Dead by Laura Childs.

Finished TBR #27 for the year, Angels in the Attic by Mary O’Donnell.
