I went to high school with Alison Pick. I've read Far to Go (EXCELLENT), Between Gods: A Memoir and Strangers with the Same Dream, but haven't yet read The Sweet Edge, so I may slot this one in here.
I know three local author's that I am considering, but I am leaning to Because I Didn't Tell by I. Katchastarr which is a book I bought from her last year, but haven't read yet.
That's pretty much all I've been reading lately! Starting with The Very Marrow of Our Bones - Christine Higdon came to our local bookstore to read and she ended up coming over for dinner with mutual friends. Then Syr Ruus' excellent Estonian displaced person memoir Krambambuli - Syr is a member of our local Authors Bookclub where we dissect books to learn the craft better. Also in this group is Veronica Purcell Tendrils: A Blue Portal Novel so I read that, too. And most recently The Grimoire of Kensington Market by Lauren Davis, whom I first met twenty years ago at a writing conference in Geneva, when we were both living in Europe. Now I'm on to an author I've never even heard of, let alone met... a change of scenery.
