Lianna (liannalives) | 13 comments Does anyone have any suggestions for a September group-read?

Kayzee | 22 comments Acceptance

This will be out in Sept. if I'm not mistaken. Other than that I'd like to suggest something I actually own so I can make a dent in my bookshelf/save money. Some titles that come to mind are Something Wicked This Way Comes, 1984, This is How You Lose Her, Ten Little Indians, And Then There Were None, The Scarlett Pimpernel, Gone. I have much more on my shelf but those are just a few to get ideas going.

Lianna (liannalives) | 13 comments Acceptance would be a lot of fun! Although I'm not sure how many people have read The 2nd book, so it might be hard to do the third as a monthly read. Are you talking about Gone by Michael Grant? That series is SO great.

Something Wicked This Way Comes would be really cool. I've actually never read any Bradbury at all. Same with Ten Little Indians, I've been wanting to read that for awhile.

This is what I've got on my shelves right now: Gulp by Mary Roach, Quintessence by David Walton, The Goldfinch by Donna Tart, The Martian by Andy Weir, and Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Does anyone else have suggestions? Should we make a poll?

Caroline | 23 comments Something Wicked This Way Comes is a fantastic book and I would totally read it again if we read it.

Kayzee | 22 comments Yep. Gone by Michael Grant. I also have the one he wrote with his wife Eve & Adam. And I totally support the idea of a poll. I have so much more I could suggest. I'll work on a few more when I get home.

Kayzee | 22 comments I also plan on starting either Gone Girl or Dark Places soon, since they both have upcoming film adaptations.
If anyone's interested in YA I can suggest Go Ask Alice, The Chocolate War, and Peeps.
If we want to try Non-Fiction I suggest My Dark Places, Zodiac, and The Party Monster.

Lianna (liannalives) | 13 comments Okay, so I can't make a poll but, I totally bought Something Wicked This Way Comes and would absolutely be interested in doing a September Read-Along!

Lianna (liannalives) | 13 comments Hey! Sorry, I've been moving, and just got my internet back. I started Something Wicked this Way Comes a few days ago.

Blow Pop (blowp0p) | 11 comments I'll have to run to the library tomorrow and pick that up since I don't yet own that but have a general love of Bradbury...

Mihoriel | 6 comments Did we all read Something Wicked This Way Comes? Should we discuss it? Should we choose a November book?

message 14: by Kayzee (new)

Kayzee | 22 comments I did but never really discussed it. It was my first time reading it and I have to say I absolutely loved. It simply just beautifully written and was a breath of fresh air from all the crap I was reading prior.

Blow Pop (blowp0p) | 11 comments I am currently reading it because it just came in but I am open to discussion

Edit: I have finished it (about a day or two after I posted this)

I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of a story I read in childhood about a carnival (but I can't remember much of the story) but also brought back good memories of reading and rereading whatever that story was. Bradbury never ceases to delight me with his writing.
