I have discovered a related sub genre of historical mysteries. It is the forensic genealogy mysteries which by nature have to be a bit historical at least for a few generations but often go back to another historical period. I am on the 4th book of this series and am enjoying it. I like genealogy too. The setting is England for the most part.

Anyone else in the group read any books in this sub-genre?

The Forensic Genealogist Series by Nathan Dylan Goodwin (Goodreads Author). Hiding the Past is the first of the series. Read them in order since there is a story line of the main character that evolves throughout the series. However each book is a separate case and stands alone in that sense. It gets better with each book.
