I read this book early this year, but have not read This Is Where It Ends. I chose to read this book because of the Alaska setting and because of the discussion of asexuality. I am looking forward to discussing this book in book club.
I haven't read This is Where It Ends, either. I'm a little wary going into this one. It sounds like a book that I would've picked out for myself, but the "mixed reviews" is enough to give me pause--especially because this is one of those "on a whim" books for me, not one that I've been waiting for. It could very well go either way. I guess we'll have to see.
I am also iffy about this book because going by the synopsis this is not a book I would typically pick up. But I guess, that's the point of book club, huh? To read books we usually wouldn't bother with?

Borrowing from the library? Sure.
Personally, I try to not not try a book because of its genre; you never know what gems you might find. Of course, I think I also tend to find my fair share of duds along the way. I like to say that I'll try pretty much anything, but I have generally solid opinions about everything, too.

With a lot of mixed reviews, this book is a mystery set in the last frontier: Alaska. Nijkamp also wrote the controversial 2016 book, This Is Where It Ends.
Have you read any of her books before? Are you excited to give Before I Let Go a try?
