The Reaver chapter from Victarion's perspective was very disturbing on a few levels. He is such a hateful character, even the battles just felt unenjoyable to read. I was having a hard time placing where they attacked until later chapters when Margery and Loras are upset because the Greyjoys attacked they people. Some of the timing here felt odd - the news of this attack got to them pretty quicky for an attack at sea and so far away. Even for ravens to carry the message.
And man, I keep getting Loras and Lancel confused with each other! I was so thrown off with the chapter about Lancel being pious and married and not at King's Landing. Even when taking notes it's hard to remember who is who!
I really enjoyed the chapter we ended on, with Jamie remembering and enjoying the life of the battle camps (not battlefield, because no fighting happening at the Blackfish stand off location!). It was also great to see the discussion with his family, both cousin Ser Devor and aunt Lady Gemma. There was strategy and history talk, but they also just felt more human. They remember things from the past, both personal and political. They cared. About like... the world. Not just themselves (really odd given they are Lannisters!).
The Brienne chapter was pretty good too, I like this Sept they are travelling with, but again I'm getting confused as to who is who. The people they met at this priestly-place that I felt people we have met before by action/reputation, but I don't remember their names. And the people Brienne & crew are hearing stories about, also seem familiar, but have we seen before? And who is pretending to be The Hound (and is The Hound is actually dead?) So many questions!
Also, this seems to be a really far ways into the book to not have heard anything about Catelyn. There was a line from someone about "the first time I died" that reminded me about her.
I wonder where we will go from here...
