Please post nominations here for our next group read. Start date will be September 20. Please nominate a book from the list of 100 books on which our group is based that has not already been a group read. A list of previous group reads is below.

Nominations will end on August 25 at midnight. If needed, a poll will be up for about a week after nominations end.

So far we have 4 nominated -

Lord of the Flies which I cannot find on the original list. Am I just overlooking it?

You're right, Martha, Lord of the Flies is not on the original list ... it SHOULD be (IMHO).

I think so, too. Well, here's the thing. The group reads have so far been focused on our 100 book list. Many of us have made substitutions to this list though.

I think I'm inclined to keep our group reads related to the original list. That said, I do think there is a place for reading other wonderful books either as a buddy read or as an alternating 'Books that should be on our 100 Book List' group read. Maybe we could settle on a title that's not so awkward. :-)

What do you all think?

BTW, I read LOTF as a teenager and it scared the crap out of me. Long story, but I was alone one night in a spooky old hotel in a small Cajun town in southern Louisiana. I tend to read the scariest books in really bad places. LOL

I made the change on our group home page a day early as I will be gone all day tomorrow. I need to find a copy of this book so I can read it. It's been years and years.
