Since this series is narrated by Apollo, and he addresses the reader, making the read very conversational, I find myself constantly picturing him reading this aloud to young Half-Bloods at camp. Maybe the epilogue reveals he has been reading his* adventures this whole time to the kids of Percy and the others, with a new generation of campers....maybe he is the new Mr. D, because of his newfound love of mortals? It would also nicely serve as a tie to the overarching theme of mortals remembering to honor the gods and the gods also remembering their children. I don't know. I just kind of love that image.
