We mostly read fiction here at Solarpunk but my hope is that we do so to be a catalyst for real life change.

A member recently asked me for books about dealing with climate change deniers. So here are some helpful list of books (that I hope to read soon!)

Books to Take on Climate Change Deniers
Boiling Point How Politicians, Big Oil and Coal, Journalists, and Activists Have Fueled the Climate Crisis—And What We Can Do to Avert Disaster by Ross Gelbspan Censoring Science Inside the Political Attack on Dr. James Hansen and the Truth of Global Warming by Mark Bowen Environmental Skepticism Ecology, Power and Public Life by Peter J. Jacques The Lomborg Deception Setting the Record Straight About Global Warming by Howard Friel Merchants of Doubt How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming by Naomi Oreskes Straight Up America's Fiercest Climate Blogger Takes on the Status Quo Media, Politicians, and Clean Energy Solutions by Joseph J. Romm The Inquisition of Climate Science by James Lawrence Powell Climate Change Denial Heads in the Sand by Haydn Washington The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars Dispatches from the Front Lines by Michael E. Mann Climatology Versus Pseudoscience Exposing the Failed Predictions of Global Warming Skeptics by Dana Andrew Nuccitelli The Madhouse Effect How Climate Change Denial Is Threatening Our Planet, Destroying Our Politics, and Driving Us Crazy by Michael E. Mann Unprecedented Crime Climate Science Denial and Game Changers for Survival by Peter Carter

Here is a tidy blog about how to speak politely, effectively, to a climate change denier.

Books That Inspire You to Resist Climate Change Deniers
Climate Change What Everyone Needs to Know by Joseph Romm The Sixth Extinction An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert Caring for Creation The Evangelical's Guide to Climate Change and a Healthy Environment by Paul Douglas This Changes Everything Capitalism vs. The Climate by Naomi Klein Six Degrees Our Future on a Hotter Planet by Mark Lynas Oil and Honey The Education of an Unlikely Activist by Bill McKibben Climate Changed A Personal Journey through the Science by Philippe Squarzoni Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

Books on Climate Change Politics
The Great Derangement Climate Change and the Unthinkable by Amitav Ghosh Learning to Die in the Anthropocene Reflections on the End of a Civilization by Roy Scranton Love in the Anthropocene by Dale Jamieson The Great Persuasion Reinventing Free Markets Since the Depression by Angus Burgin

Other Must Read List Climate Change Books
The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight The Fate of the World and What We Can Do Before It's Too Late by Thom Hartmann The Age of Sustainable Development by Jeffrey D. Sachs Comfortably Unaware Global Depletion and Food Responsibility... What You Choose to Eat Is Killing Our Planet by Richard Oppenlander The End of the Long Summer Why We Must Remake Our Civilization to Survive on a Volatile Earth by Dianne Dumanoski Climate Wars by Gwynne Dyer Don't Even Think About It Why Our Brains Are Wired to Ignore Climate Change by George Marshall The Great Transition Shifting from Fossil Fuels to Solar and Wind Energy by Lester R. Brown

I did not graphically represent the duplicates from each list, to save time, but the book which showed up the most was Merchants of Doubt: How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming.

What I consider the most important book: Caring for Creation: The Evangelical's Guide to Climate Change and a Healthy Environment

Evangelicals are a large and powerful voting block in American politics. I want to buy a few copies and put them into little libraries near churches. If you have any spare cash please do the same!

Its an audio book Im like so much and found so edifying Im listening to it a second time !!!

In the comment section readers shared conversation they had with people in denial and one shared teh below link to a debate at oxford university which I found further edifying for my task of transforming those in denial to functioning members of the climate change mitigation community

Virginie Not sure where to post this...

I recently came across this website: https://eco-fiction.com/eco-fiction/

This website deals about climate-change 'nature-lovers' literature and news. I think the ressource category is particularly worth a look. Plenty of 'environmental-aware' projects and websites.

It’s a cool site. I mentioned it under the thread Wellsprings. I was trying to be clever with the names, sorry.
