Thank you for doing this, Betsy. Great idea! I’ve really missed you, guys. Had to skip the last two meetings but not gonna get the December one slip too. See you then! Lenka
Thanks, Lenka! It's my pleasure. I hope we will find it fun and useful. I'll see you in December!
I know several of us are big fans of Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan series, so is anyone else watching the HBO series? I was very, very nervous about it, but so far, I think it is pretty much perfect.
Oh man, I’m so glad to hear that Katie! I was tempted to watch it last night but I was sleepy and didn’t want to drop off to sleep in the middle of it. Will definitely be watching over Thanksgiving weekend 👍🏽
I'm also glad to hear it's good!...I thought someone mentioned at one of our last meetings it didn't get good reviews ( not that you can necessarily trust those) :-)Thanks for setting up this group Betsy-awesome idea!

Hey everyone. In case you are interested, here is a great interview with Tommy Orange... https://www.powells.com/post/intervie...I was particularly interested in the books he lists as influences. The man has some excellent taste.
Just an FYI, Carol, the film adaptation of Price of Salt, is streaming on Netflix. Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are Carol and Therese, which though I’m only about halfway through, seems like pretty perfect casting.
Love the movie, and just about every actor is ideal, I think. Maybe not Kyle Chandler for poor old Harge. He's way too sexy for Harge. But everybody else. :)
Since we were talking at our last meeting of our shared love of spreadsheets, I thought some of you would be interested in this glorious 2020 reading log that Book Riot just released: https://bookriot.com/2019/12/04/2020-...

So, this is not really about Lionel Shriver's book, but you get it.... I'm so happy everybody wanted to do this. I guess I'm the moderator, but if anybody else wants to take turns, I'll gracefully abide by all election results.
I look forward to all of us sharing what we've read/seen/heard that we loved and/or hated. I hope we can also be a resource for each other when we're looking for what to read next. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start another thread with a question about a book.
Everybody enjoy, and let me know what we can do to improve our experience here (including coming up with a better name). Thanks!
Betsy
