30.2 Susan A's Task: My Favorite Subject

My favorite subject in school was always math, and in particular algebra. For this task, please read two books that fit the following math related tasks. You may choose an option more than one time.

Option 1: Read a book with a number visible on the cover. 200, 3rd, and 1/4 work for this task. Number words like million, second, and five do not work. Roman numerals do not work.

Required: Include the cover in your post.
Examples:
1st to Die (Women's Murder Club, #1) by James Patterson Equation For Love by Fae Sutherland 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith

Option 2: X & Y are common variables in algebra problems. Read a book with an X or Y in the title/subtitle.

Examples:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Mockingjay
The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History

Option 3: Read a book with the genre mathematics (or math) on the main page. Embedded genres will be accepted.

Examples:
Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data
A Mathematician Reads the Newspaper
Love and Math: The Heart of Hidden Reality

Option 4: Read a book in which "math" appears intact in a word in the title/subtitle or the GR plot description. The word containing "math" must be have a meaning related to mathematics. Mathematician works; aftermath does not.

Required: State how the book fits the task.

Examples:
Lessons in Love(mathematician in GR plot description)
A Mathematician at the Ballpark(mathematician in the title)
Should've Known Better (math geek in the GR plot description)

Good question. No. Roman numerals are not used in math classes.

I'll add this to directions.

Yes this works for 4. Both because it is in the GR and I would also accept it for the title - -I think it is probably a play on words.

Rats -- mathematics genre isn't there today. Did you get it noted on the genre thread? If not, just keep checking and get it noted when it pops back. Feel free to pm me, so I get to it quickly.

Oh...it does have Y. You can use this for option 2 and since you can repeat options, you should be set.
