10.9 - Write Me a Letter
February 4th is National Thank a Mail Carrier Day. In honor of letter carriers everywhere, read a book write in an epistolary style. An epistolary book is one that is written as a series of documents, usually letters, that are often dated and/or time-stamped. For the purposes of this task, books written as a series of letters will, of course, work, but so will books written as a series of emails, tweets, blog posts, diary entries, newspaper clippings, and/or ships logs. The Epistolary Fiction or Best Books of Letters (Non-Fiction) lists might give you some ideas.
Required: If the epistolary nature of the book is not obvious from the book's description, explain how it fits the task when you post.

The task requires a book that is written in the form of letters, emails, blog posts, etc. From the description, this book appears to be a group of short stories that involve letters, but not one that is written in letter format. If that is the case, then, no, this book would not work for this task. The lists were supplied solely for idea purposes, not a guarantee that books on the list actually fit the task.

Wanda (wanda71) | 1770 comments Diary entries were also included in the task description. Would this book Diary of a Waitress: The Not-So-Glamorous Life of a Harvey Girl be acceptable? It does have a MPG of children, however according to AR the IL is MG+-BL 6.1 and Ar points-12.0 thus making it within the acceptable parameter for children's books.

Thanks

Yes, that would work.

This book is best described as a hilarious absurdity or possibly the inverse of that. Set up as an epistolary memoir of two retired Majors Scoundrels and two lifelong major scoundrels, it goes one to tell tall tales of a British gentleman’s club extraordinaire and its two eminent members’ wild adventures in service of their country and their egos.

From the preview it appears to be a mixture of journal entries and letters. As long as that format continues through the rest of the book then, yes, it would work. Since the epistolary nature of the book is not obvious from the book's description, make sure you explain how it fits the task when you post.
