Hello! Thank you so much Becca and Evie for setting up this group, it will a lot of fun, I am sure!! Most of us are already probably chilling together in other groups too, but it's always fun to be part of a new one :)
So, I'm Anne and my first introduction to Jane Austen happened when I was about 13, and saw the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. I saw it in French, and it sounded weird, and I was with my cousins and they kept talking, so I understood nothing. Then I re-watched it sometime later in English, and totally loved it. I only started reading Austen in late 2012 though, when I decided to do P&P for an independent study in English class. I loved the book, and shortly after I discovered Georgette Heyer, whose wonderful books really opened me to the wonders of the Regency era. Now, I am totally addicted to anything Regency, and my family thinks I'm crazy. :P

Nice to see you here, Anne and Evie. :)
For my part...
I'm Rebecca - Becca for short - and I first introduced myself to Pride & Prejudice at the age of fourteen. I chose to study it (along with the 2005 film version, for comparison) for an English assignment in Year 10. Since that time I have read all of Jane Austen's novels, attended a Jane Austen festival, and also read other Regency authors like Julianne Donaldson, Amanda Grange and Georgette Heyer. I have loved them all. :)
I love to read (obviously), to play the piano, to take long walks when I can, to cross-stitch, to dress up, and to dance. I've done quite a bit of role-play before and enjoyed it immensely, but I've never tried it in a Regency setting, so this should be interesting!
I hope everyone has a lovely time here.

Hello everyone! My name is Danielle, and I have grown up with Jane Austen always being part of my life. Mum loves the books and films, so they've just always been there.
I have only read 'Mansfield Park', 'Pride and Prejudice', and half of 'Emma'. This is not because I don't like reading more of her books, but because I love reading many other books as well.
My favourite thing about the Regency period is probably the manners. I wish we were still like that.
I am a costume geek, and want to learn more about historical clothes, and ultimately do costumes for films and/or theatre. The Regency era is one of my least favourite clothing-wise, but that does not mean I enjoy things from the period less, or that I don't like any of the clothes.
I also have my own blog, which is http://booksandthegirl.blogspot.co.nz/ where I blog about whatever I want to. :)
Anyway, that's me for now. I still don't actually know a whole lot about this 'role-play' thing, but I'm joined up now, so I'll enjoy it.
Sorry, this was probably a bit long... :)
Hello Danielle! Welcome!
I too love the manners from the Regency period. I'm sure many of us wish that we were still like that today! I actually really love the dresses from the Regency period, I own three gowns myself. But I love dresses from other periods too! I just generally love dresses, I think. :D
It's okay that you don't know a lot about role-play; I'm a very busy young lady at the moment, but I'm going to do my best to get some guidelines and topics posted up over the next few days. :)
Welcome again, and I truly hope you enjoy everything here. And that was a brilliant introduction, not too long at all!

Thanks Evie and Becca! It's lovely to see you both here!
Welcome Danielle :) I totally agree with you for the Regency manners. I so wish we could still act like that!

I'm sure at least a few of us in this group will know each other already, but this thread is a place for all members to say hello to each other. Introduce yourselves, tell the others something about you... For example when you discovered Jane Austen or the what you like about the Regency period.
I hope you all have a good time here. :)
