Report your toppler reads here! Please only make one post. Remember to include your WoF name, a link to the book read, and which award it won.

Sure. We all start the same time for topplers, so it isn’t noon local time it’s noon Eastern time. Plenty of time to finish another book though, as we just started.
WoF - JaniceI read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe which won:
- Lambda Literary Award for LGBT Children's/Young Adult (2013)
- Stonewall Book Award for Children’s and Young Adult Literature (2013)
WoF PattyMacDotComma (I guess!)Correction! Sorry, I got my Hannah/Hanna mixed up. And I don't know whether the award qualifies.
I read My Real Name Is Hanna by Tara Lynn Masih which won a Skipping Stones Honor Award for 2018. (It's for multi-cultural and international books for young people.) It's a children's/YA (not graphic) novel about the Holocaust in Ukraine.

It this your first badge earned, PattyMac? Congrats on that! Make sure you add which award your book won so we know how it qualifies.

Also, just checking that you linked the correct book. The Nightingale was from 2015, not a YA, and set in France.
WoF name - LanelleI read Gwen's Christmas Ghost by Lynn Kerstan and Alicia Rasley. It won the RITA Award in 1996 for Best Regency Romance.

Sorry, Kristie. I was actually reading The Nightingale but interrupted it to read My Real Name Is Hanna, and I corrected my earlier post. If it doesn't meet the criteria, that's okay. It was a NetGalley book and I enjoyed reading it anyway!
WoF - JennI read Amsterdam winner of the Man Booker 1998.
There was some great use of language, although I will admit I was glazing over during some of the detailed description of musical composition (just not my thing). But wow, the ending, somehow I just didn't quite see that coming . . . Wow, lol

You are all set! The only qualifications were that it was read beginning to end during the toppler and that it won a national award that is not readers choice. I will accept international. I just didn't want any smaller state or local awards.
Edit: WoF - Annerlee (have a mind like a sieve)I read Fahrenheit 451. Can't believe I took so long to pick up this one! Excellent! It won a Hugo award for Best
WoF name: KristieI read The Hate U Give. This one won multiple awards, including the Amelia Elizabeth Walden Award (2018).
wof : margoI read The Sellout. It was 3 star for me. Very well written - I can see why it won Man Booker prize. As a reader, I was shocked by the level of bitterness contained in the pages. I was horrified by the uncomfortable truths it contained re: everyday racism, sexism and class consiousness.
I will be thinking about this novel for a long time and may well increase my rating.

I just realized this is on my Stephen King recommended book shelf: sai-king-recommends.

I read it and enjoyed it, Margo. I know I missed many bits of cleverness that other readers picked up. You might enjoy reading some other reviews. Here's mine. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
