As per the results of our poll on what our next quarterly reading theme would be for December, we have two winning categories - space opera and alternate history.

Please make your suggestions for book reads that fit into either (or both!) of these themes. As per usual, all suggestions made in this topic will be listed in a poll in a few days' time so that we can vote on the two books for the monthly group read.

If a book has featured in a previous group read in the last 12 months, please do not suggest it for this next group read. You may, however, feel free to repeat any earlier unsuccessful suggestions you (or anybody else) made in previous nomination topics.

Ken Brown | 5 comments I haven't read it, but Wikipedia says--"Having as a science fiction editor rather despised space opera, he finds himself living in a "Mad Universe" where the most cliché aspects of that subgenre are an actual, daily reality. " maybe I'll read it to see if it is Space Opera.

I'm suggesting - for space opera - Hunter's Run. Not sure what to suggest for alternate history.
