What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book in ~2016. It is about a girl whose mom is on her death bed. She found a picture of her mom (I think) and felt like her mom had lots of secrets. The daughter goes on a quest to find her mom's secrets. She learns that her mom had a good friend. Vicky I think?

**Spoiler alert: It turns out that her mom was living under her friend's name. She was really pretending to be her friend. She did this because her friend died in a bombing and her husband was so abusive. He was also powerful and he knew that he would kill her if she tried to leave. So once her friend died, she took her name and ran.
