Just started and I'm already hooked! I'm up to chapter 6 and (view spoiler)[much more interested in the novel than the real life part so far. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12
(view spoiler)[the novel part is super intriguing. I can't get enough of it!
The real life part is starting to get more interesting now, but still just okay. I'm hoping that part picks up soon... (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 19
(view spoiler)[i was momentarily confused why we were suddenly reading about a high school student named ariel... Until i realised that this was imogen's book! I hope we get to read more of it - sounds interesting so far!

Chapter 32

I knew it! When Lizzie's mom was being weird and said "you'll need your father one day", while making the ravioli, i was sure she had cancer or something. Damn. Poor lizzie. Now she has to deal with that on top of everything else as well... (hide spoiler)]

I'm still planning to get to this... later this week, I think...

(view spoiler)[The opening chapter was so strong, i expected this to be a 5 star book, but i ended up rating it 4 stars. A solid book with a few weak parts, but overall i liked it a lot!
I'm usually not a fan of open endings, but these ones felt fitting for how both stories played out.

And i definitely agree with kiralee - the ending to the novel portion was suitably brutal. That was one of my favourite parts, actually. Travis and Lizzie's talk about the terrorist attack was a great way to end. In addition to getting some closure for both of them, it also made the story come full circle!
I could have done without the jamie scene that followed.
I don't know why westerfeld never wrote a sequel, he set up enough questions left to explore. But like i said, the open endings fit the stories perfectly anyway. (hide spoiler)]

The sad part is that we can't get all these great book ideas as real books... I'm gonna try and pick this one up tonight or tomorrow night and read it slowly alongside my other reads. I have pretty high hopes since I've really enjoyed some of his other books.

We enjoyed it... I finished last night... agree with Angela that there are some weaker parts, but my books have been so lackluster this month, that I'm tempted to bump it up to a weak 5 stars, anyway...

2 chapters in and wow, what a freaking great start! (view spoiler)[ When the phone operator told the girl to pretend to be dead my heart dropped. This is not what I was expecting. I didn't read the blurb, I just pulled it straight off my shelves and judging by the cover i was expecting a fantasy/ dystopian type deal. Still I'm glad I knew nothing about this book going in. I'm super excited to read more. (hide spoiler)]
