I finished this book yesterday, and was kind of disappointed. The book hooked me from the first page, and I really enjoyed it up until about the last 50 pages. (view spoiler)[The ending was WAY too rushed for my taste - all the action that the book had been leading up to happened so fast that I was pretty confused. We don't even get to see what happens in the White House and I was disappointed by that. Poe was magically a good guy and the people we thought were in danger the whole time were really fine. And I didn't like how Jean was given the easy way out about deciding whether to go with Lorenzo or stay with Patrick - she didn't actually have to make a choice, Patrick just dies. I thought that she should have actually been forced to choose.

I really liked the premise of this book, and it give me chills at certain points in the book (like the suicide by electrocution). However, it was kind of ruined for me at the very end. Everything just felt so easy for the characters. When Poe "captured" them at the end, I thought "Oh wow, how are they going to get out of this?!" And they don't have to, because he's a good guy. Maybe the author was trying to make that a plot twist, but it just felt kind of lazy to me. (hide spoiler)]

I'm glad I read this one, but I don't know if I would read another by this author.
