I'm not here yet, but I think others are already past Chpt 10...

Absolutely loving the story of Kvothe!
The adventure is just beginning.
I still can't even imagine his will to live and survive after the horrific scene with his family and friends.
I wondered though, how come he didn't use any of the sympathy that Abe had taught him against some of the evil people he encountered in his travels....?

Denise - I'm really enjoying this too! That's a good point, I wonder why he didn't use sympathy. It seemed like he was in shock, and just barely able to function? Or maybe he didn't know how to use it aggressively? I wonder if there are limitations to its use that will come in later.

I was wondering why he didn't try to find Ben...

One thing I really liked was that the chapter in which the caravan was attacked was called "Hope." I think he did a really nice job of framing that part of the story, and it revealed a lot about Kvothe's character.

I agree that he was completely in shock, as well.....
Also wondered why he didn't seek out Ben, but again, part of his brain wasn't functioning normally.
