Hi Y'all. Sorry I missed you this past Saturday at Michaels on Main. I hear the new books chosen were The Collapse of the Western Civilization: A View from the Future by Naomi Oreskes and Erik M. Conway AND a 2nd book was chosen Broken Harbour by Tana French. (Links to the new books on Goodreads and a list of our DCRP history are below for you.)
Per Brian, "We've decided on two selections... Because one is short and heavy but the other a bit longer but pretty fluffy,"
Per Michele, "Please note that the Collapse of Western Civilization may be in back order in several forms/vendors. Therefore, if you're short on time, read Broken Harbor."
We have 2 new members in the past 2 months. Welcome to Peg and Greg! Peg came to us via Michele Korpos and Greg found us on Goodreads and joined the group at Michaels on Main last weekend. As we are back at the top of the rotation for choosing books and location, I will just slip them in for the next 2 months. The rotation, including the meeting dates, will now be: Peg - 9/13 Greg - 10/11 Brian - 11/8 Christine - 12/13 Julie D - 1/10 Tamara - 2/14 Gwen - 3/7 Michele - 4/11 Gerry - 5/9
Peg, as you are now up next, it is your choice for location and time of the next meeting on Saturday September 13, and you will be bringing 3 selections to choose from.
As always, remember that we have no rules. If you want to change something up, just let me know. For the new people and as a reminder for the rest of us... For privacy, we do not post phone numbers or any personal addresses email or physical on the internet. This email chain is the only place we use that information and any personal contact information is edited out before adding it to Facebook, Goodreads, or the like.
Happy Drinking & Reading :-) Christine
