For me it was The Selected Writings by Henri Micheaux published by New Directions.
I look forward to seeing the favorites of others.

I think for me it's a tie between Jorie Graham's fast and Sue Burton's Box. Such different books, but both stick with me as most others don't.
S., looking forward to your review of Greenstreet! The excerpts I could find online do seem magical.
Jen, I still have the Micheaux on my to-read list! Hopefully in 2019 (although my "lists" are more like soft, loose webs than strict "thou must do this" commandments, so it may actually be much longer).
And Ellen, that's an interesting tie. I had to look those up.

It's so hard for me to select a favorite. I've read several poetry books I really enjoyed, but don't think 1 alone stands out.yes, I will also have "carry-overs" to my 2019 list.
I'm another one who can't identify one favourite. I especially enjoyed: The Blue Hour, Black Country and The Letters of Sylvia Plath Volume II: 1956 – 1963, which I'm still reading.
Those Sylvia Plath letters do sound fascinating, J.S. And I've enjoyed the Liz Berry poems I've read up to now, so I'll keep an eye peeled for Black Country.
For anyone who might be interested, the literary journal Southern Indiana Review did a "2018 round-up" where a number of writers were asked about their favorite poetry reads of 2018. I participated as did several others, with interesting book opinions and recommendations: https://www.usi.edu/sir/reviews/the-m...

My favorite was definitely
. I don't know if T has released his work in paperback yet, but I'm eagerly anticipating that so I can have tangible copies of this genius work.
