Alex Sheathes | 2 comments Cycling will certainly pull a few of you out of your comfort zone, mainly because cycling is an individual sport. Yes, individual. As in, you will be competing all by yourself - no help from your teammates, whatsoever. So for our daring few who choose to venture on, I would recommend that you continue reading.

Below is a picture of our course. I recommend that you study it well. As you can see, certain locations have been marked with a number - there is a number in light gray and another number in dark gray. For the purposes of this race, we will only focus on the numbers in light gray. Each number represents a rest stop where athletes can refuel and rest up for the remainder of the race.

All competitors will begin at the starting line. Beginning on day 1 of this event (today), athletes may request one of the levels of difficulty listed below. This selection will determine how challenging your set of 10 trivia questions will be. Competitors must answer all 10 trivia questions individually - you may not seek assistance from your teammates, family/friends, or online sources. Assuming you answer all 10 trivia questions correctly, you will be able to advance the designated number of rest stops listed below. For example, if you answer 10 "easy" trivia questions, you will move 1 rest stop closer to the finish line. The first person to reach rest stop #16 (aka the finish line) will win the gold medal, and so on. Your progress will be recorded in this post. You may only request one set of trivia questions per day. If you answer any trivia questions incorrectly, you will remain at your current rest stop and will not have an opportunity to advance until the next day.

Lynanne Carroll (waterfall17) | 48 comments Are trivia questions for each day all from the same topic (ya dystopian novels, for instance), and the difficulty level is increased within the topic?

For example, if I know a lot about 1) classical authors but very little about 2) contemporary ones, if either category were to come up I'd choose difficult/hard for 1 and then easy for 2.

Or is it completely random?

Bharvi | 36 comments Will you PM the questions and will we have to PM you the answer? And do we have to sign up? If I wanted to, could I ask for an easy question now?

The questions will hopefully be related to books that your country has read in challenges, however, not all of them will be.

You do not have to sign up, just request the question level here and the question will be pm'd to you.

Bharvi | 36 comments I'm confused. Can we get a notification of when you send the set of questions? Has anyone else gotten their set of questions yet?

message 11: by Lynanne (new)

Lynanne Carroll (waterfall17) | 48 comments I haven't ^_^'. I just figured we'd get then when we got them. But notification via this thread might be good, just in case someone was overlooked by accident...

message 12: by Riya (new)

Riya Sorry everyone for the lack of questions. We have been slightly overloaded with our general life stuff and the other challenges in the Olympics (it's a lot for four people!), so we would appreciate your patience with the questions. We will be making the questions ASAP and sending them out as soon as we can. Thanks for waiting.

Alex Sheathes | 2 comments The Cycling Event will begin soon. Every team needs to post a book that they would like to receive questions for and the level these questions should be. Once this is posted, questions will be created and messaged to you within a few days.

message 17: by Riya (new)

Riya *Sorry about that: Multiple people from each country can participate with different books and levels- NO TEAMWORK

Lynanne Carroll (waterfall17) | 48 comments Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a set of hard questions please.

(Um...to be honest, I'm still confused!! Can we really pick ANY book? It doesn't need to be something in another challenge...?)
