Ticket to Read Book Challenge 2018 discussion

Another NYT/PBS Book Club choice, which I wouldn't have read otherwise. But I'm glad I did. It's sort of like Educated, but the author's rise to going to Yale and Harvard were more by pure chance than any desire or expectation on his part. But both authors were very influenced by the religion of their childhood, although Gerald's influence was much more positive and lasting. Gerald becomes interested in power, as in politics, but is not too happy with what he discovers.
