Genre Readers looking to expand discussion

I am bringing this over from last year and asking anyone who did it to start over, several expressed interest but were not able to start it so I thought we could start over this year.

This is just a fun (hopefully) way to find and read different authors .

How does it work? You build a path to read based on authors names, you pick an author to start and then when you finish that book the next book you read has to have at least one name the same as the last author.

I am curious to see what all different kinds of books/authors you will find yourself reading, how different will the last one be from the one you started with.

You can only read each author once!

Here is an example of how it works:
The Path starts with Along Came a Spider by James Patterson
Book 2: Dubliners by James Joyce
Book 3: Labor Day by Joyce Maynard
Book 4: Grim by Glenna Maynard
Book 5: The Callahan by Glenna Sinclair
and so forth...

Okay, I'll give it another go this year.

I am starting with The Mermaid Collector because it is the oldest book on my TBR.

Starting my author's path with Crimson Angel by Barbara Hambly because Barbara seems like an easy name to start with. lol

1. Barbara Hambly . Crimson Angel
2. Barbara Taylor Bradford Three Weeks in Paris
3. Taylor Jenkins Reid Daisy Jones & The Six
4. Theodore Taylor The Cay
5. Taylor Vaughn His To Claim

Starting my author's path with January First: A Child's Descent into Madness and Her Father's Struggle to Save Her by Michael Schofield

I finished The Mermaid Collector, now I am trying to narrow down the next book with either Erika or Marks as a name.

I have found 3 options just trying to decide it the names work with the next pick.

I was just hoping to stumble onto a Barbara while reading books on my TBR list, but I think I'm going to have to actually seek one out.

Got a second one added finally!

I am trying to get a 2nd one, but having a hard time getting into the book.

My Path:

1. The Mermaid Collector by Erika Marks
2. Lucky You by Erika Carter
3. Orange Blossom Express by Betsy Carter
4. A Soft Place to Fall by Betsy Rogers
5. Scandalous Deceptions by Rosemary Rogers
6. What the Dead Leave Behind by Rosemary Simpson

Finally finished my 2nd book for this challenge. looking for a book by a Carter for my 3rd one.

Got my third one. Went from Barbara Taylor Bradford to Taylor Jenkins Reid.

Fourth one: Taylor Jenkins Reid to Theodore Taylor.

Fifth one: Theodore Taylor to Taylor Vaughn.

I tried reading the Orange Blossom Special by Betsy Carter, I couldn't stay with the story and I have so many other books I would rather be reading so I am going to move on to the next author.

Book 4 down, now looking for a book with Author named Rogers.

Rosemary Roger's Scandalous Deceptions this month so next I am going to go with What the Dead Leave Behind by Rosemary Simpson.

Sixth book down. Now to find an author named Simpson.

I only got 5 on this one this year.

I got 6, it was a bit of a winding path with different types of books. It was not as easy as I thought, but I think it depends a lot on what name you start with.
