If you've got a suggestion for the group, let me know here...
I can't promise it will happen but I'm open to ideas :)

Buddy Reads was mentioned a while back, we can give that a go if folk are still interested?

I'm going to be honest, Elliot, I've never done buddy reads myself, so I'll have a snoop on other Goodreads groups I'm in and see how they work.

Someone mentioned it last year, but I was focussed on trying out the new group reads together, so I thought I'd mention it again now.

I'll do some homework and get back to you soon :)

Haha, thank you. I'm very disorganised this year :)

Melanie | 61 comments You done read alongs though? So that is essentially like a buddy read. Over on booktube buddy reads are a big thing, as are read alongs, the only difference is that a read along is normally hosted somewhere like a goodreads group and that buddy reads are smaller group, mostly chatting on voxer over a certain section of a book. I currently buddy read "An instance of the fingerpost" with two bookish friends in the US and we leave each other messages on voxer every other day for the specified section of the book, we said, we would read.

Ooh, Melanie, an expert! I could ask about Buddy Reads to see if there's enough interest? How are the books chosen?

PS: I loved An Instance of the Fingerpost, although I suspect I've forgotten half of it, there were so many interesting little threads in it.

Lynn | 16 comments Hi Ellen,
When posting my last read today in the Robert Burns group, I noticed there wasn't a William Wallace group for 11-15 books.

You can find the William Wallace group by clicking on Discussions which is in the menu on the right side of the group's home page.

Ellen | 13 comments Hi Ellen,
I'm having a problem finding my self this year in the 10-16 group. I Just finished Killing the Shadows by Val McDermid and wanted to post my review.

Thanks,
Ellen

Faith (victorianprincess) When I am putting my TBR books on my Scottish reads shelf, do I add books about Scotland and books written by Scottish authors? what if the author of the Scotch book isn't Scottish or the Scottish authors book isn't about Scotland?

All those are good in this group :) So if an author is living or born in Scotland writes a book unrelated to Scotland, that counts. As does a book set in or about Scotland written by someone who has never lived in Scotland. There are some grey areas, but basically if it’s got a Scottish link, it counts towards your challenge. Hope this helps, Faith :)

Faith (victorianprincess) Thank you, Ellen. That makes everything clear. :D

Faith (victorianprincess) I have one more question, Ellen.
I want to read this book of stories, and it includes 6 Scottish ones, and 3 that mention a bit about Scotland and 8 that are set in other places.
Does this book count toward the future challenge, or no?

Yes, absolutely! And you can always describe the Scottish parts when you list the book on your challenge, so we know a bit more about it :)

Faith (victorianprincess) Ah, thanks so much! I don't know why I just saw this comment, btw. ;)
