It's time to start up a game of field hockey! To do that, though, we need to establish a few rules. We don't want anyone leaving the match toothless.
Only two countries can compete in a field hockey match at a time. Therefore, I recommend taking a look at the Field Hockey folder and viewing the Match Schedule to see when your country's match has been scheduled.
When the match begins, the first country to visit the thread can post a short, 1-2 line description of a book (we'll call this Team A). Please do not copy any sentences from the book summary, as this will give away the book's identity. The opposing country (Team B) has one opportunity to guess the book title. If Team B guesses incorrectly, Team A scores 1 point. If Team B guesses correctly, Team B takes possession of the ball, but does not automatically score a point.
It will then be Team B's chance to provide a brief description of a book. If Team A guesses incorrectly, Team B scores a point. If Team A guesses correctly, Team A takes possession of the ball, and so on. I will be refereeing every game, so if there is ever a question, I would be more than happy to address it mid-game.
Games will last for a total of 24 hours. The team with the greater number of points will advance to the next round, where the team with fewer points will be removed from the competition.
Get your sticks ready, because the first match starts now!
