Sheryl (sherylcat) | 21 comments A Little Life - it's sooooo long!
Life After Life - the reviews are mixed
Burial Rites - it sounds boring, but heard it's good
The Snow Child - I didn't get it read last winter, then couldn't bring myself to read it in the summer

Lisa (lisamc) | 5 comments I think I’ll finally tackle “The Goldfinch” this year.

Jen (wenchamok) | 1 comments When you wake up early for no good reason, you finish hate-reading the literal and metaphorical White Whale. ✅ 6. A book you’ve avoided or didn’t finish: Moby Dick by Herman Melville. I started reading this my junior year of high school because the teacher assigned it for extra credit. I don’t remember how far into I got, but I pretty quickly decided I didn’t need the extra credit that bad. So when this book category popped up on the list, I knew I needed to try it again. And it’s still horrible and I don’t get why so many think it’s the best book ever. Parts were interesting (the action parts), but the anatomy of whales and other diatribes in Melville’s pompous writing just killed any momentum for me. But I can say I’ve read it and I will NEVER read it again. Good riddance.
