Happy new year everyone!

As this new year starts (in a couple hours for me), so does our first readathon of the year. It starts at midnight and ends in a full 24 hours, in which you just have to read as much as possible. This thread will be the main hub for this one, and I will create other topics in further months.

What is your goal for this readathon? Are you going to try and read for the full 24 hours?

I want to read the book of the month for January, (Stuff I’ve Been Feeling Lately by Alicia Cook). I also want to read Vicious by V. E. Schwab and Vengeful by her as well. I might also throw in another novel if I have the time.

I hope everyone participates and posts (even just once) throughout the day.

LET THE CHALLENGE COMMENCE!!

Happy reading,
Amelia

Hoping to make some progress through the remainder of the Discworld series over the next two days (currently up to Thud!) and check out some of the recent books of the month!

Happy reading!

Ruthsic Happy New year everyone!

I won't be reading as much today - atleast not the whole 24 hours - as I have to write up and schedule blog posts and reviews for the week. I have a TBR for the month tho.

I'm thinking I'll read The Cruel Prince as my first read.

I am joining the readathon with The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It’ll be my first read of the new year. I read the first 30 pages in 2018. And can’t wait to finish it.

Happy reading everyone 📚

Sassenach (joellesassenach) | 26 comments Happy New Year everyone !!!

I don't know how many books I'll read but I'll do my best. But I won't be reading for 24 hours, that's for sure because, first of all, I had a long day today and I'm knackered so I'll have some sleep before I start any reading (or else it will be for nothing because I'm not sure I would be able to understand a thing !). And in France, as we speak, it's already nearly 2 am (I spent the last two hours preparing my reading files with stats for 2019) so my eyes are closing without my consent ;) lol !

I guess I'll start the readathon by finishing the book I'm currently readind, which is a french novel "Là où les chiens aboient par la queue" about a family from a french caribean island. Then I guess I'll be reading the comics from canadian author Jeff Lemire "Sweet tooth" (3 books of 300 pages at least so not a really fast read). Then, I'll see ...

Happy reading everyone !

I’m glad everyone is enjoying the readathon. Mine starts in about four hours as I’m in the US and time zones are a thing. I will definitely start updating more as it starts and I work my way through a day of reading.

Happy reading,
Amelia

Sassenach (joellesassenach) | 26 comments Hi all !

I hope you're all reading interesting books during this readathon :) I finished the novel I started in 2018 and I read a short children novel so it's not too bad. There is still some time to finish one or two graphic novels and maybe a novella too :)

Happy reading everyone :)

I have read four books already!! I feel accomplished for today but I’m going to work on Vengeful by V. E. Schwab and if I finish that, I’m going to listen to part of an audiobook. I hope everyone has enjoyed the kickoff readathon for 2019!

Happy readings,
Amelia

Lynn (lynnsreads) Hello everyone,

I love the enthusiasm everyone has!

So far, I have read the first 5 Chapters of Orthodoxy. I am also starting The Pillars of the Earth and read the preface /prologue, plus spent some time online looking up Peterborough Cathedral.

Loved The Pillars of the Earth!! Hope you enjoy it!

Sassenach (joellesassenach) | 26 comments I just finished an other children novel so I can say it's 3 titles read for the challenge ! Yeah ! I have another book well on its way but I can feel sleep coming my way so I don't think I will be able to finish it tonight ... but it will be over probably tomorrow :) Not bad for a start, especially for a day like the First of January (because I was also quite busy wishing a good year to friends and family !)

Happy reading till the finish line of today readathon :)

message 18: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (lynnsreads) Thanks Abby. Great job everyone on your accomplishments today.

Lynn (lynnsreads) Final tally on reading yesterday. I read the first five chapters of Orthodoxy, the preface and prologue to The Pillars of the Earth, and then I finished with the first four chapters of From the Earth to the Moon. I did not complete any one book. I usually read several books at the same time and switch back and forth.

Great job! My final count for yesterday is four books and I started two others. I read Stuff I’ve Been Feeling Lately, I Hope this reaches her in time, I hope this reaches her too, and Vicious. I’m about halfway done with Vengeful, and I’m almost halfway done with Stranger Than Fanfiction.

I had duck a great time doing this and I’ve never looked forward to a reading group more!

Happy reading,
Amelia
