Of all the books you read on your list this year, which one was your favorite and why?

My favorite and only 5* rating I gave in this challenge was The 13th Day of Christmas. I read it as the December pick of my real-life book club. It was a great read for December and although it was sad, it was very heartwarming. I passed it on to two of my friends and they enjoyed it too. I think it touched me even more because one of the main characters is Miss Marva (a woman in her 80's). Marva reminded me so much of my own mother who passed 3 years ago and I miss her terribly. I also liked it because it wasn't a typical Christian fiction read. No Bible-thumping and unrealistic dialogue. It was an underlying tone but not in your face which I think would be a good read for non-believers. The main gospel message of Christ is not given until the Epilogue.

Hope (hopeinbrazil) My favorite book of the year was Screwtape Letters for its depth and humor. I thought about its truths for many days afterwards.
