Are you struggling to keep up with your challenges? Here's a place where we can keep track and encourage each other to squeeze in time to finish up challenges and beat those deadlines.

How it works:
1. I will post links to challenges shortly after they're created, with the end date(s) included in my post.
2. Anyone is free to pipe up about which ones they're struggling with, how many more books they have until they finish, which categories they need help finding books for, etc.
3. Feel free to talk about other challenges we host that go throughout the entire year, as well.
4. Have fun!

If I think of any more "rules," I'll come back and tweak this comment. For now, I think that covers it.

Carolyn | 203 comments I'm not sure; who is responsible for the mystery challenge. I know a few ladies, me included asked if there could be a catagory listing for elderly authors or slueths; other then just amateur sleuth

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 6501 comments Mod
Cheryl tries to please as many people as possible when creating challenges, but sometimes there are simply too many things to fit into a single challenge. Perhaps featuring elderly authors and elderly sleuths is something that she will consider fitting into a future challenge, especially since there are several people interested. If it doesn't get fit into one this year, please be sure to mention it again in the year-end questionnaire she'll put out again in December. We greatly appreciate your feedback, Carolyn.

Are there any that you're struggling to finish and need help finding books?

message 16: by Shash (new)

Shash | 285 comments I got behind on my six-month challenges! I'll try to get to the books I need, but may resort to a children's book or two. :)

Nice reminder Andrea! Here's what I need to finish the six month challenges:

Catch-up:
All three

What's in a name:
* Boys/Girls
* Shadow/Shadows

Rainbow:
* Two orange for double rainbow

Kindle:
* Book by friend

I don't think I can meet all of these so will have to strategize and figure out which ones to focus on. I can likely find that one of my Hidden Gems earlier in the year was a Kindle read and have that challenge met.

This book would meet both Catch-up and Rainbow:
The Last Plea Bargain by Randy Singer

Happy reading all!

You’re doing great, Staci!

message 24: by Lila (new)

Lila Diller | 198 comments Here are the challenges I'm trying to finish this month:

- Kindle challenge: I just need #4, Read an ebook or listen to an audiobook in a Libby App. (through overdrive) If that's not an option, then hand your kindle to a friend and have them choose one for you.

- What's in a Name: I knew I wouldn't get to all of these, so I set my goal at only 2. I'm still working on #6, A book with the words "Secret" or "Hidden" in the title. I have one in mind, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

- Scavenger Hunt: I got behind on this one. I'm still working on finding a mother as the main character for May's clue, + I still need to find an autumn setting for the June clue.

- June Wedding Party: I finished my groom one, but I'm still having trouble finding a bride that is red-headed like me.

- Author of the Month: I knew I wouldn't get all of these, but I had hoped to read one of Susanna White's books this month, as several have been on my to-read list for a long time. If the library doesn't have the book of the month next week, I'll have to choose another of her's.

Have you read An Hour Unspent (Shadows Over England, #3) by Roseanna M. White yet? Redhead and Mrs. White. But it’s the last of a trilogy that needs to be read in order. If that one doesn’t work, I am happy to look for some other books to help cover some of those categories for you.

You’re doing great! Feel free to finish up any of them late if needed. Life happens. We all get that around here. :)

Go, go, go! You’ve got this.

If you’re looking for a shorter classic, I really enjoyed Lady Susan by Jane Austen, and there should be at least one free e-copy out there.

With four days to go...

Catch-up:
*Classic

What's in a name:
*Boys/Girls

And a wee bit of frustration for just now realizing I read a book with shadow in the title back in January. So I could have been focusing on one of the others. Oh well, I am glad to have read a book that I'd had on my Kindle for a year.

Message #4 is updated with November's challenges.

Also, remember that our yearly challenges (message #2) and second round of six-month challenges (message #3) will be ending in only two short months.

Now's the time to play catch-up if you're a bit behind. Don't worry, y'all. There's still some time to fit in some last-minute books.

Which challenges are you trying to catch up on this month?

Some of C.S. Lewis’s books are short, so that may be a quick finish for you. Best wishes for all those books! :)

message 41: by Lila (new)

Lila Diller | 198 comments I will be reading Ladies of Intrigue for the Author of the Month challenge, and I will need to read 2 books for the Scavenger Hunt, as I forgot that the book I started for October's candy corn search was a big Not-Worth-Finishing for me!

Before the end of the year, I also am trying to finish up the books of the Bible challenge with John this month and Luke next month. I'm also working on the 6-month Kindle challenge, just needing to choose a book whose cover makes you smile (Cecilia's Soulful Heart in KU) and to read a holiday book on your Kindle (Christmas at the Red Door Inn and/or Once Upon a Christmas novella).
